Is it just me or has he lost a yard of pace. when he was through but that wigan CB caught up to him easily..

Na, he picked up a injury early on in the 1st half, was hampering him all game- he's feeling his way back in also after the early season injury- much like komps, class is permanent, when he's 100% match fit he'll be the best striker in the prem this season!!

That's what I hope and believe. He'll get that yard of pace back. That's what makes him a £30m player.

Is there anything more frustrating and upsetting that a formerly top class player who has lost his pace through injury? Trevor Sinclair? Robbie Fowler?
Michael Owen, Fernando Torres.

It is a problem with a lot of fast forwards though. So many pick up hamstring injuries and have to change their game.

And is it me or is Aguero missing a lot more chances this season? I haven't seen any stats so could be wrong but it certainly feels that way watching him.

His finishing has been poor - classic case of a forward having a bad run of form.

It will come and we'll be a much better team for it.

Would you let him play him self out of it on Saturday or rest him for the Derby and start with Tevez behind Balotelli?

I'd play him. But if you want me to name our best pairing I can't do it.Each pairing brings it's own limitations. I actually think I'd go with Mario and AGuero, to frighten them with pace. But that's not to say I think they are the best players.

Tough one for the manager.

-- Fri Nov 30, 2012 12:06 pm --

I don't think he has ever had pace over a longish distance but over 5 to 10 yards he is really quick.

And that, in a nutshell, is his game. If that doesn't come back he'll be a shadow of the player he was.

Very good but not quite as good as most of here make out. Still, think he has 4 in his last 6 so hardly a crisis. Has to be the poorest finisher out of the few world class strikers out there. Still love him and not trying to have a dig.

Aguero is world class but he needs a rest as does yaya. he was injured for a month and from the moment he returned he hasn't missed a match, while mancini should have given less games at the beginning and start to play him regularly after a few weeks. people who say he has lost pace well see again the goal against ajax. i watched a brilliant performance from kun in the real madrid game, and u must be world class to perform like that against madrid. in the top 5 strikers in the world for me right now and we are lucky to have him. i guess he seems slower sometimes because he is exhausted.

Injuries will affect Aguero's game a lot more than with other players. He rarely beats a player with skill. It's usually just pure acceleration. If injury takes that explosiveness away, he's kinda fucked. Hopefully he will return to peak fitness again soon.

WHY in this forum there is a need for people to panic. you said about kompany, he returned to his best now u doubt aguero well guess what, world class players sooner or later play like they can play, aguero is not gonna be off form for the rest of his career. and no with one injury u dont lose ur acceleration. I agree hes not been at his best form but surely 11 goals with club and country this season are not nothing and for the time hes been off. but why the need to panic i don't understand.
