Alan Green leaving the BBC

Not all bad I suppose;-

Green had a long-standing dispute with Alex Ferguson[14] following an incident in which Green said on air that he was "learning not to believe the propaganda that comes out of the Manchester United manager's office".[15] Green felt that he had been deliberately misled by Ferguson giving him inaccurate team news the day before a match.[11] In 2009, Green said of Ferguson: "He either bullies or frightens. It's the way he exerts his control over the media. He would be a fantastic propaganda minister. He knows how to manipulate and some of my colleagues take it in."[11]

In 2006, Green was banned from Bolton Wanderers' Reebok Stadium after accusing manager Sam Allardyce of playing "ugly" football. Following Allardyce's departure to Newcastle United, the club invited Green back.[16] In an article for The Belfast Telegraph in 2010, Green wrote: "Am I alone in thinking Sam Allardyce must be the most arrogant football manager that's ever lived?"[17] In January 2013, Green criticised Allardyce's style of play at West Ham United, which he described as "hitting the ball long and high to a big man up front."

Having minor run ins with absolute twats does not diminished the fact that he's a twat in his own right. If all 3 of them were on fire and I'ld necked 6 pints and bursting for a piss I'ld risk pissing myself than piss on either of them.

Great news - he (almost) single handedly put me off listening to Five Live. I remember driving home from visiting a customer and listening to him commentating on one of our games in the season after Joe Royle got us promoted. He did not bother describing what was happening - just a miserable rant about how poor the game was. It was unlistenable and from that time I have immediately changed the channel or turned off the radio on hearing his irritating voice.

I cannot believe it has taken so long for the BBC to wake up and take action but at last it has happened.

Used to like him on Radio 5 live , but that was in the early to late 90s. Never knew he was still about
Its all a bit strange....i remember Green being a skilled enthusiastic knowledgeable commentator ,late 80s early 90s...id go as far as saying he was one of the best ive ever heard,he really was that good, used to bring the match to you in a professional enchanting manner..
Then, all of a sudden ..things changed..and his oratory skills became centered upon himself..and his views,..becoming more and more belligerent, aggressive and obnoxious...quite what happened i dont know..probably just fell out of love with the game..but needed the money so just carried on.
Very sad...in my book..if you dont like your job.change it.Dont posion the atmosphere for everyone else with your ego.

This thread is not a great reference for potential future employers is it? - lol

I think that was exactly the same game I began to despise him. For any City fan listening or, indeed, anyone interested in the match, it was appalling.
