Pompous git but I quite liked Whickers world, gave an insight to the world around us back in the day.

Just seen this on the BBC,I was fascinated by his shows as a kid and they made me interested in travel.
The Whicker's Island sketch on Monty Python was hilarious though.

He is along side Sir Dave in the british tv institution, not as influential to me but i remember his show as a kid well.

Back in the day used to look forward to his programmes .he went to places at the time that us mere mortals could only dream off
