Alcoholism

Could you live happily without booze ?

Probably not!

if not, are you addicted to it ?

It's a very tough one to answer that one!
I mean, I am addicted to gambling...that I am 100% certain of (and been to GA and all that bollox!)
But with drink, for example, I crave alcohol...and I mean I really crave it (to the point where I look it up online ie what offers Asda or Tesco's have etc)
That said, after a couple of beers, I usually don't want anymore!!
Occassionaly if i'm in the mood, I will happily down six or seven pints...
I think I just genuinly like a drink! Relaxes me, chills me out etc
So probably not addicted then if I think about it!

if yes, are you an alcoholic ?

See above, I don't think so!

With Alcoholism its about accepting that YOU have a problem.

There are many people who use this forum who will have a dependency issue with Alcohol but won't say they will in this topic because they don't admit to themselves that they have the issue.

When they start to admit to themselves about the issue this is when they can begin the journey on the cycle of change.

I rarely drink, when I do drink however I find myself blowing out and drinking a lot.
Not had any alcohol since the World Cup 3rd place match.
Luckily for me I can go out on a night out without drinking alcohol, although I will now and again.

Mum? Is that you?

I'd drink ten times as much as I normally do just to keep that c**t with the pink pants well away from me and my family.
After all his giving it out about his new sober life;this was the only thing I thought as well.

I'm a tipsy-holic. Just a few to make the world seem a bit rosier, then hopefully stop at that.

Took me about 7 or 8 years to get the balance right.
