I was a bit miffed so asked to see the manager, she dials a number and a guy comes out of a room, so I (in a friendly way) explained again he said the same as her, anyway eventually I said look these are your brand of lights still sealed (shrink wrapped box) and its only $25 , he still refused.
I said look Ive been shopping here for 6 years spending on average $6000 a year and if you dont give me a refund you will lose a customer.
He said 'whatever' and walked off

I went home and emailed head office about this and a woman rang me that day, she said the guy shouldnt have said 'whatever' but without a receipt they wouldnt refund my $25 so sorry about that...

They have now lost a $6000 a year customer.
Im amazed that they can be so arsey about such a small sum and be happy to lose a regular customer to the competition.
I have spread the word about their non existent customer service, and I begrudge the $30,000 Ive spent in there.

Have they pissed anyone else off on here ?

You have to have a receipt with them here, but nevertheless, has to be better than Coles or Woolies.
 
I think they have made a business error and the guy who said whatever needs his balls parting. You say they have lost a customer who spends £6,000a year, but you and I now that the same groceries would probably have cost you £2,000 more elsewhere. The question you have to ask yourself is do I want to lose £1,975 to make a point? What I would do is take your custom to another Aldi, as managers bonus is heavily affected by turnover. Try to get your pals to do the same and go in and tell the same **** that. If you go he is £6,000 down and believe me that will cost the prick more than £25 in lost bonus. Cutting your nose off to spite your face is not the answer. hitting that prick where it hurts is far better. As I said, if you can convince other people to change stores that will be even sweeter. Oh, remember now to keep all your receipts or card transactions.
 
i have found 3 things in aldi food now and complained every time but not got anywhere
i found a small peice of metal in some chicken i emailed pictures and sent them off and took the metal in store. mysteriously the metal disappeared and they said the pictures couldnt prove anything and was probably a bone.
the other 2 times i found some blue stringy plastic stuff about 2 inchs long ....they said it was part of a plastic protective glove the 1st time and part of packaging the next. and got a £5 voucher.
pretty piss poor if you ask me customer service wise but im fucking skint so still shop there :(

It's not like there's Aldi on every corner here in Blighty, fuck knows how far he'd have to travel in Oz, probably use a tank of fuel.

As for persuading friends and family to boycott them, not a fucking chance in reality, unless maybe they hire a coach and make a weekend of it.

Didn't realise he was in Oz. If there ae no alternatives its still him losing money, a lot more than the 25 he is down. He cold just throw a party.
