lets be honest, name one player in our youth ranks recently that went on to be a world beater after we gave up on them??? if they are good enough they will play, most of these kids just arent ready to play at that level...denayer is 20 years of age for christs sake, most players that age arent playing for the top clubs unless they are insanely talented

The onus in on Denayer to force his way into the starting 11 at the expense of the other players not on City to give him a free pass to the team.

How exactly is he supposed to do that when he can't get a chance to prove himself in a competitive game?

I agree that he could quite easily be our 4th choice CB this season. However, that is not in his best interests and the club would be unfair making him stay in that role.

He's got a battle on his hands to stay in the Belgium team. They are not exactly short on CB options and it is the Euro's next year. A loan move to a European side, will not only give him another year of first team football, but it will also boost his chances of making the competition.

Again, with another season of first team football under his belt and being a regular member of the Belgian side, he will be in a much better physical and mental position to challenge for a first team spot.

The club has to value him from a financial viewpoint aswell. Lets say he has another successful loan spell and makes the Belgian team, we could be looking at a £20+ million 21 year old defender. However, we give him a few games this season but he's unable to take a regular spot, as a result he drops out of the Belgian team, we are then looking at a young defender with one good season in Scottish football under his belt and would be lucky to get £7 million for him.

A loan this season is in everyone's best interests.

Go out on loan, improve and become a regular member of the national side.

Do you think he should be ahead of Kompany, Otamendi or Mangala?
 
People say keep saying 4th choice CH, that seems quite far down the pecking order as if there's just one centre half position. But in reality next season he will be second choice for one of the two centre half positions. That's no different to Clichy or Sagna being second choice to Kolarov or Zaba, Delph being second choice to Fernandinho or Bony being second choice to Kun.

the lad has been on tour and training with the first team for the last 2 months ,its clear that that the coaching staff think that the lad is not quite there yet ,in terms of devolepment ,as much as i would like to see kids playing as much as the next fan, it cannot be to the detrement of the team ,we are competing at the very highest level,we dont have room for passengers,when the margins for success or failure are so fine
