That is not true. He was excellent for long periods of last season whilst Clichy was injured. Even on this thread where the Neanderthals slag him off as being "wank" he was getting a lot of praise until well into the new year.
 
Makes sense to have him at centre half and his distribution has always been very good. As a former full back he's also going to be very good at bringing the ball out from defence when he sees a gap open up in front of him, a bit like a modern day Sol Campbell. Hats off to him for ignoring the haters
 
What I like about him outside of ability is that he celebrates every goal and is always among the first to reach the scorer to celebrate with them even though he is usually one of the furthest away. Wish all our players had that attribute.
 
I'm a not a Kolarov fan so maybe this clouds my analysis. But I think he did well the way Mangala did well the first few games last season. With little actual work to do Defensively. Wait till we play a team with some talent then we can say.

The run he made typified the confidence he had today.

The best game he has played in a long time.
Looked in full control & very comfortable.
Loved the run he did from own half today.
