Aleksandar Kolarov - 2016/17 performances

Slated him after the Liverpool game, but thought he was very good today. Should only play as a centre half now.
 
As I have been saying , Clichy at lb
Kolorov at cb. That's our best.

More than decent cb, that long ball\ diagnol that he can play is a potent weapon.
If he doesn't have the license to go forward his positional issues are negated. This suits his skill set.

Coaching 101. Someone needs to make a sign\song so that when ever pep has the idea to play him at lb the sign\dong needs to come to the fore. We let him know. Kolo at left back is like having an asshole at the end of your elbow.

An asshole at the end of yer elbow could be a great addition. Yer could rest yer arm on the open car window and shit in the street. Very handy if yer stuck on the M6 or leaving a Swamp car park!
 
Finally every one agrees that Kolarov is better CB than LB.

I think we don't need to buy any CB, Otamendi is our best CB, then Kolarov comes 2nd and Stones 3rd.

I remember when Mancini was here, we had the best defence record with Kompany & Lescott.

Sadly Ric you are correct his deal runs out on the 30th June 2018. Perhaps the sensible thing to do would be use this season's up and down form to offload him when he has more than three good games on the trot. Must be someone willing to spend 5m on him?

I think he has played extremely well in virtually every game this season, certainly not up and down form. In fact he has probably played more games than any other outfield player, a sign that he is both liked by the manager and also has played consistently well. Why would it be sad that he actually has an extra year on his contract ? He's a good player !
 
He can stay as CB cover but if pep doesn't want him for that then it might be his time to go

We are so lucky to have Aleks covering the CB position really well. He played more minutes than any other City player.
Good move by Pep to shift him away from full back.
The gamble to go on with Komps failed and we should be grateful the other lads are fit and well.

As not many on here are able to say what Aleks has deserved, I'll do it:

Absolutely. I thought it's common knowledge for some time.
Even more so I couldn't trust my eyes when I saw the line-up at Anfield.
Don't know what Pep's idea was to field Zab and Kola as full backs, should have been Sagna and Clichy.
For me Pep got it completely wrong there, God knows why.

Surely somebody has to share the workload with Clichy. Angelino?
If not, we better play a back 3 with Kola behind a packed midfield.

Hopefully we see Angelino tonight and he has a good game, I haven't been too impressed with him to be honest. Needs to be phased in and kolo phased out at lb. Till we find a permanent solution.

That been said I do believe Clichy with a run of games is a good lb. After a run of 4- 5 even his forward play comes out.

Once Vinny is up and running a back 3 is something we can look at.

Pep has dropped the ball twice. Once at totenham and once at Liverpool.
He obviously wants something I am not sure what it is?

Didnt he play lb against Barca anf iirc, did a fine job. Maybe that,s why Pep still selects him for that role

So who is the cover for Clichy on LB then?
Kolarov maybe, but not vs top sides.
Any EDS kid available?
I don't expect City to be active during this transfer window and try to get the top list player next summer.

Angelino has gone out on loan so nobody for now,we have to hope clichy stays fit and we use Aleks there a bit less
