It's truly incredible how you get footballers playing at that level for years and are completely incapable of using their wrong foot at all. Instead of controlling it and playing a claim please pass on his right he will just hoof it out of play with his left. He did it to give away a corner recently when there was no need to he is right foot is just not used ever. He should be made to practice on it -it never ends to get up to a high or even reasonable level, just capable of controlling and playing short passes, which he either can't or won't so just hoofs it into touch, the tit

I agree that professional players shouldn't be obsessively one-footed but when they're at the back I'd rather they hoofed it into the stand rather than take chances with their wrong foot, Dunnie was much the same on his left foot.

Kolarov surprised me last night by actually playing a first time backpass to Willy with his right foot, had me worried for a second!

I thought we had a decent back 4 last night. It was like being in a 90's time warp with loads of long ball and defenders just heading it back over about 5 players! We looked solid!

I think these fans should make a bit of fucking noise in support of the team before they start abusing one of our longest-serving players. Bar Caballero, Kolarov was the single player who was least at fault for us not scoring last night. The OP's post record invalidates his point.

A very revealing stat! I don't even recall the incident so I'm wondering whether it was anywhere near as bad as the OP stated. I do recall Kolarov getting some stick at a meaningless end of season game against Norwich in 2013 just after Mancini had been sacked and I think he confronted the fan(s) in question - to be honest, if they were giving him abuse and he decided to give a bit back I don't particularly blame him.

There was also an incident at Newcastle, which I seem to remember was in response to taunts from Albanians in the home end.
In fact the more I think of it, the insults for our Balkan players, have always been far more spiteful and personal than the others. Perhaps there's an undercurrent camouflaged by internet anonymity?

if it's a choice between a fan like the OP and Aleks, the OP can jog on. Aleks has been a great servant and is one of our best players this year. The shit he gets from the old bitter brigade is embarrassing and the sooner that lot are put to pasture the better for our club.

Probably the same guys who sit near me who go mad when we recycle the ball. GO FORWARD GO FORWARD!! we arnt going to score going backwards!!

I thought he was our best defender last night, arguably best player. Funny how people see a different perspective from different parts of the ground.

Correct, he actually has to adjust his whole body a lot of the time to make his backwards left foot pass which often breaks down the tempo of the play instead of just playing an easy right foot pass inside to keep the momentum going. Clichy is just as bad, no wonder our left backs are targeted.
All players should be able to perform the basics with their chocolate foot

Never understood why some supporters, admittedly a minority, think players will perform better when they're being abused...

Well if that's how they treated our best outfield player on the night I hate to think how they treated De Bruyne and Fernandinho... Oh wait, they didn't. Because it's personal, isn't it? Some people have certain players who they decide early on that they hate, and will not change their minds no matter what. Kolarov could have a POTS year for us in which he scored a UCL final hat-trick against Barcelona and would still be loathed by half of this forum.
