Aleksandar Kolarov - 2016/17 performances

Too square? He made a couple of mistakes but as Pablo says it's his first all season.

Is Aguero "too square" to play up top then, as he was shite.

If you understood the game you'd know what I mean. Body positioning and his approach to the ball when defending is completely wrong. Obviously capable of whacking 60 yard passes when Bournemouth leave him a ton of space, though.

He has an ability every season to pull the wool over everyone's eyes and once again he has turned to shit. Fucking horrendous mistake for the first and gave the ball away for the 2nd. We have made a huge mistake not replacing the four full backs. None of which are good enough.

Exactly what I was going to post, you have to give him credit for pulling the wool over Pep's eyes.

That is even more impressive given he was on the verge of a move to Besiktas apparently as well. Probably managed to impress Pep in training or something....

I could just about forgive for that mistake against Celtic but to do it twice in a week is unacceptable. It's not exactly a hard skill to clear the ball in his position.

Moment early in the second half when Gundogan had the ball waiting for Kolarov to overlap and he just had like a fucking coward.

If you wanna blame Kolarov, blame Pep. He is the one responsible playing Kolarov as a CD and prefers him to Clichy at LB. I however agree with Pep to play him.

After his 'walking back' performance at Crystal Palace ( I think) last season , I was adamant that I didn't want to see this charlatan play in the shirt again.
Fast forward ... my opinion hasn't changed , he is nowhere near good enough.
Maybe Pep can do wonderful things with certain below average players, but even he cant make a silk purse out of this sows ear.
Get rid!

Can't imagine that anyone was too surprised by his performance. He's looked great at centre half against teams who are sitting off, where he has time to pick passes into midfield, or to hit those 50-60 yards out to the right wing under no pressure. And I've absolutely no issue with him being used in such games in that position - in fact, he's an obvious asset. But whenever he's asked to defend, he's found wanting, and today was no exception. He was inept from start to finish. And mentally, he's as soft as fuck - as soon as the going gets tough, he's the first one to go hiding - Neville was spot on to pick that up when Gundogan was under pressure in the left back area and Kolarov made no effort to help him out.
