I think many of his detractors would have a different opinion if he had played at CB and not LB during his time with us, but it took Pep to realise that ability in him.

He has been good in the central role.

Still find it unbelieveable that he was here for six years, under two different managers, and Pep turns up and on the first day Brian Kidd says "And this is our leftback Aleks" and Pep just goes "What the fuck no this guy is a centreback, isn't that obvious?". He's a class above other managers.

We could've saved ourselves a fair bit of cash and player turnover had we established Aleks as a centre-back a few years ago. And bought a new bloody left-back also.

It slowly gets in peoples head Kolarov isn't a bad player. Have said that and said it on here before: One mistake and it's back to bashing square 1.

Has has a good season especially at LCB rather than LB. Had a couple of howlers but all in all been steady.

Not really. Could have played Dinho at LB and put Garcia in midfield. He had options.

Kolarov isn't perfect, but some of our trendier players are performing far worse.

He could have done, but I understand why he wouldn't have wanted to today. Garcia in an unfamiliar midfield could have backfired and losing Fernandinho from the midfield was probably one change too many. There's no way Garcia could have played his natuaral game surrounded by Delph and Fernando.
