What's new about it ?

The writing players off having never seen them kick a ball is probably quite new

I dont know whats worse. Writing off players we havent seen, or wanking over Samaras from youtube clips.

How many had heard of Maicon or Julio Cesar before Mancini took them on. Or who had written off Cambiasso after his major flop at Real? I wrote off Cambiasso, but Mancini changed the players attitudes and made shrewd signings.

Look at what he has done with the players who were already here;

Kompany - Vastly improved
Richards - Vastly improved
Lescott - Improved
Zab - Improved
De Jong - A very good player under Hughes, world class under Mancini.
Barry - Unsung hero.
Hart - Potentially world class, Mancini gave him his chance.

And the one shrewd signing Mancini did make for us, turned out to be an inspirational figure for many at City. Patrick Vieira.

As others have said, to write the lad off is plain stupid. I'll add my comments after the lad has had 1 full season in the Premiership. Until then, good luck to him.

-- Sat Jul 02, 2011 3:52 pm --

Any more posts like that Ric.. and you will be sent on holidays more often..

Brilliant!! :-)

This type of signing excites me as much as signing a world class household name, just in a different way. If he's got massive potential, but just lost his way a bit, then it will be interesting to see what affect Mancini has on him, and how good he can become with a bit of tlc and confidence.
This signing as well as the Clichy one are brilliant in my opinion, players with a point to prove!
