Alessio cerci

Potential siginings like this excite me as much as bringing in a big name but in a different way

I dont think anyone is suggesting he is going to be a world beater but he could be very useful throughout the long season.

Lets not right him off guys - he could prove to be a gem.

Don't know much about him so I asked around.

I'd be shocked if we signed him. By all accounts he's not good enough to play in a top 6 side in Italy, let alone play in a top 4 side in England...

I haven't seen Cerci so am probably not qualified to comment - but based on the iffy reviews of him by Italian fans, I'm puzzled as to why Mancini doesn't save the 7m and just use Weiss as cover. Weiss is younger but has more experience in big game situations (World Cup with Slovakia, Champions League with Rangers) and is still highly thought of and valued around the same price as Cerci. He also counts as homegrown, which is becoming more and more important now.
Clearly that's already been thought about and hasn't gone through, so maybe Mancini rates what he sees in Cerci and what he thinks he can mould him into with the right tutelage.

The biggest myth peddled about Mancini is that he'll give youth a chance. He hasn't done, and he won't do.

Unless you're his wonderkid. (Balotelli)

You're right in a sense, but that's not accurate. He does give youth chances but not when you're trying to reach a goal. Youth will get more chances this coming season.

And for the record, he's been preaching this season for the longest about planning to incorporate more youth.

Weiss in my opinion, is shite. Youth or not, he's shite. Maybe that's why Mancini and his team don't rate him.

Well Mario is not old is he? :)

And he gave Hart the nod over Given and played Boyata in some big matches...
