But there are quotes of him saying he respects Mancini and would like to play for him. We're a much much much bigger outfit than Fiorentina now. That said, I would shed no tears if we don't get Cerci.

Willian from Shakhtar called us a big club a few days ago, along with Liverpool rags etc. Maybe Costa is interested.

Would rather have them than Cerci.

What about Costa? I've only seen flashes of these two from the CL. Certainly they can tolerate the cold if they can play in Ukraine.

Sorry if this has already been posted somewhere but cerci has come out saying he wants to stay at fiorentina, as he has now paid peace with the fans.

Fiorentina winger Alessio Cerci says he wants to stay with the Serie A club after attracting interest from Manchester City.

Cerci's future with the Viola had been uncertain earlier in the summer after he fell out with the club's supporters last season.

He was linked with a move to the Premier League, with Fiorentina claiming last week that a bid from City had been rejected.

The 24-year-old is aware of City's interest, but now intends to remain in Florence after patching things up with the club's fans.

"The negotiations with City exist," said Cerci to Fiorentinanews.it. "But my wish is to remain here considering that I have made peace with the fans."

Cerci joined Fiorentina from Roma last summer and signed a four-year contract with the Tuscan outfit.

City boss Roberto Mancini had revealed the wide-man was an option to strengthen his squad, but he may have to look elsewhere for further recruits.

Mancini is trying to finalise a deal for Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri and remains in the market for another signing before the window closes.
