What about the boy at Rangers Baouhgherra (spelling very wrong). He looked decent from them from what I have seen of him and he wants to play for a bigger team to prove himself. Could be worth taking a look at????

He has Premiership experience though. That probably puts him ahead of Bruno Alves for Hughes.
I'm sure I read somewhere a while back that Newcastle has a transfer embargo in place untill they get the ownership sorted out? Eg, not possible to get Bassong until that embargo is lifted... Not a single person at that club who's in a position to make any decisions...

When we were still in for Terry, it was rumoured that Chelsea were looking at the lad at Newcastle (Taylor?) to replace JT if he went. Would this lad not be worth a punt? I'm sure Newcastle would welcome the dosh.
Also, I have a Bolton mate who speaks very highly of Gary Cahill. "Very brave" was how he described him. I take this as meaning he's the type to headbutt a brick wall if it meant preventing a goal going in.

Bassong would be a good signing IMO. Versatile and strong. Would still prefer to sign Veloso, who is also versatile.
