Alex Henshall

The new Donal McDermott? It would be a shame as Henshall actually cost us some money and was very highly rated. One of these days we'll produce another quality English/British player again and it'll feel good, lately we've been the Football League's best friend creating all these players for lower league clubs. All of our best 'older' prospects are foreign except Evans.

Must be still room for improvement, I don't get to see the EDS squad that much but there was a lot of fuss over us acquiring his services from Swindon. Desperately need a left-winger so hopefully he'll up his game in the future.

Funny how Michael Johnson was supported for so long yet others are written off easily.

As I say, no chance that he will be the answer to our wide problem. More chance of taggart being our next manager

had a long injury, now 19 i think, no chance he'll make it at city, will be a lower league player at best imo

"no chance he'll make it at City" - who made you the judge mr knowall?
The fact I have some knowledge of the youth and reserve set up, and a bit of common sense. He's the same age as Nastasic and 2 years older than a player in his position who has already scored for the club. He's only played a handful of games in the last year so its not hard to work out

I little unfair as you ignore the fact that not all players mature at the same time.

His future does not lie here unfortunately. He has plenty of pace but is technically weak compared to the other youngsters. Is now third in the eds pecking order despite being one of the older players and this would indicate that the club staff think the likes of Lopes and Rusnak have a higher chance of playing at a high level. When he arrived he was one of the stronger players in the reserve/U18s but has rested on his laurels/failed to improve and younger players have come through and are now showing more promice. It seems he simply matured early.

I wonder where he would be if he had stayed at Swindon and started playing first team age 18 like some of their graduates do..?

Also I wonder what will happen with Rusnak, seems decent to me but is now 18 and faces plenty of competition, perhaps time for a loan?

There's a video on the City web-site of an U18s game between City and Arsenal which featured players from the U16s and there's a Norwegian on there called Celina who looks very good.

I remember seeing Henshall on these videos, but I haven't see him recently
