Early in Bobby's tenure we had a ton of English players. I remember watching an English international game that included (Hart, Lescott, Richards, Milner, Johnson...and I think Bridge) all in the starting lineup. Media still hated us.
Haha fair point. I think mixed with Pep will create a turnaround - the media love him.
But you are right, tbf.

I understood why people don't want him.

However the facts are that we need an English contingent because of the rules. Who could we get that is cheap, as young, available and better?

Oh and Pep clearly rates him.

Not far off Sterling? behave yourself. He's not fit to sniff the gusset of Raheem's undercrackers.

For gods sake this comment made me laugh out loud on my desk at work.. now everyone is looking at me... I think they know I'm not laughing at a spreadhseet

Just not progressed at all in at least two years, maybe even regressed slightly. If reports are to believe he has massive confidence issues.

Its a yes for me though because he's got that raw ability and physicality and if anyone can turn him into a real player its Pep.

The weirdest City link for some time, if you ask me. Why would we want him?

Doesn't do enough in the final third.

Sterling has scored 3 less goals for City this season than Ox has in his entire career.

Well, we are going to need a few homegrown players.
There isn't a homegrown Messi available so what we need is midfielders who:
Energy and work rate to fit in a pressing team
Has the right attitude, keeps fighting and doesn't dive etc
Reasonably good technical skills and passing
Young and potential for improvement.
Can play in multiple positions (important for a pep total football philosophy)

Can't think of too many who fulfils all the above better than him.
