Alexander Isak | Cried his way to a £130m move

Foden is not better than Wirtz , his all-round game has declined in the past 2 season , though his goal scoring has improved.

We had a good summer ,but our rivals did need whole sale changes . Liverpool if they sign Isak will be strong favourite , I think Arsenal also have better defense and wingers than us.
The responses to this one going to be funny

2 seasons you say?

There’s no chance he goes Saudi. Think it’s really obvious he’s going to end up at the dippers. I am of the view that Kerkez and Frimpong are not as good as Trent and peak Robertson but Isak and a centre back (likely Guehi) and they’ve just had an absolutely insane window that will set them up for years to come.

We should always be interested and want a player like Isak, regardless of how many attackers we have. Look at Liverpool, they are stacked with attackers, but they still want him. Even if we did go in for him, I think hus heart is set on Liverpool. He's been linked with Liverpool for weeks. He isn't going to change his mind now, sadly.
Didn’t work well with Alvarez did it, he wanted out to be first choice.

Unless Pep changes his whole philosophy and starts two strikers, we’d never be interested. If we were to play 2 up front, Isak wouldn’t be my choice, he’s like for like with Haaland. Needs someone to compliment him.

Another Blue with a short term memory problem...

Just like VVD on the Big One on Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

That's how the Scousers work.

They are no different to Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in that sense.

Turn a players head in public, and via Liverpool fans across social media, and keep on doing it until the player asks for a move.
Media also help with the 'pushing' of moves

Shout us when Wirtz gets 19 non penalty goals in the league, fires his team to the title and wins every POTY trophy going.

Shout me when Wirtz wins 4 in a row and a champions league. He’s proved fuck all yet playing in that tin pot league.

Your 2 years is way off too, as pointed out.

What are you talking about, 2 years?
He was voted the best player in the league 12 months ago.

Last season Wirtz scored 16 in all comps.
Foden, who had the season from hell, still scored 13.

Wirtz hasn’t played a single game in the Premier League.
Foden has won the league countless times and has been voted the best player in it.

Playing for a keep ball team in the bundesliga to an energetic premier league team in Liverpool isn’t an easy transition either.

Have faith in your own players not just shiny new expensive toys.

Look at it this way.

Who would the Saudis rather do business with, J.W. Henry or Sheikh Mansour?

If Liverpool was owned by Trump, you would have a point, but they aren't.
Lol, I adore your innocence — truly — and I get where you're coming from. I’d also rather City get Isak than see him end up at Liverpool. And yes, I do know who owns Liverpool.

But honestly, I don’t think you fully grasp what’s actually going on behind the scenes. It’s not about Trump owning Liverpool — far from it. If you understood the web of connections that guys in private equity, asset management, hedge funds, VCs, and even military contractors have with the U.S. government and its closest allies, you’d realize Liverpool quietly holds an edge here.

In reality, Liverpool is owned by.....

John W. Henry is an American businessman, primarily known for his involvement in sports ownership and as the founder of John W. Henry & Company, an investment management firm. He is the principal owner of the Boston Red Sox and Liverpool Football Club, and also co-owns Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing (formerly Roush Fenway Racing).

Net worth, £5.5bill.

Sheikh Mansour refers to Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a prominent Emirati royal and politician. He is the current Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, as well as the Minister of the Presidential Court. He is also a member of the ruling family of Abu Dhabi and the brother of the current UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Additionally, he is known for being the owner of Manchester City Football Club.

Sheikh Mansour's individual net worth is estimated to be at least £17 billion, with a family fortune of around $300 billion.
Look, no one’s questioning who has more wealth or global clout between Sheikh Mansour and John W. Henry — that part is obvious.

But this isn't about personal net worths or résumé comparisons. It’s about geopolitical alliances and strategic optics. Saudi Arabia doing business with Liverpool — a historically "neutral" Western club owned by Americans — is far less politically sensitive than handing one of their prized players to City, who are directly owned by the UAE, a regional competitor.

You’re thinking in terms of football and money. I’m talking influence, state relationships, and long-term positioning. If this were just about who’s richer or more powerful, City would win every negotiation hands down — but we both know that’s not how these deals always work. In this case, politics will creeps in, even though it is sports.

And let’s be real — if this particular deal strengthens your closest rival, and you have another "acceptable" option on the table in Liverpool, which direction do you think they’ll lean?

It’s not about who they'd rather sit next to at a business conference, even if it was, Saudi Arabia adores the US and its power players. The relations between UAE and Saudi Arabia are sour as it is, and both sides feel and believe they do not need each other in any capacity.

So yes, the Saudis would absolutely choose Henry’s Liverpool over Sheikh Mansour’s City in this context — not because of the wallet, but because of the wider chessboard. Even if you might not see it, understand it or think it.

Probably I am wrong, maybe it is not that deep. Even though we may not have space for Isak, lets throw in a cheeky bid and see what happens. ; )

as a Liverpool fan I hope we don't sign him. He seems to want to come to Liverp[ool for all the wrong reasons. If money not football is his primary objective thenI would prefer we leave hime where he is.
You really think that l everyone player at the club is there due to the fact that they "love Liverpool football club"?

A 33 year old Mo Salah had you lot by the bollocks and the only reason he's still at the club is because Liverpool gave him mega money to sign a new contract.

Having said all that, nobody on here gives a fuck about Liverpool. Your posts would be much more appreciated on Rawk.

Just been listening to a Geordie breaking his heart on TS sandwiched between two sneering dippers telling him to get real - PSR is there to keep proper organic clubs like theirs in the trough, you can't have dirty petro dollars outspendng 'history'.

I don’t understand our fans obsession with other clubs..
We have a great squad, unrivalled success over the last decade and the best manager in the world.
I genuinely don’t worry about any other clubs, especially the weird cult who can’t behave and then blame everyone else.
We will have a fine season, if we add a right back, we have the strength to win this league. If we don’t add a rb we will still challenge and probably win stuff.
