Alexander Isak | Cried his way to a £130m move

There’s no chance he goes Saudi. Think it’s really obvious he’s going to end up at the dippers. I am of the view that Kerkez and Frimpong are not as good as Trent and peak Robertson but Isak and a centre back (likely Guehi) and they’ve just had an absolutely insane window that will set them up for years to come.
Just makes our last few windows seem totaly and utterly second rate.

I remember windows when we brought in the likes of Yaya and Silva and Aguero.

Then In the Pep era we signed the 2 best wingers/forwards in Sterling and Sane. Identified the best RB in the premier league and one of the best AM in Europe (Bernardo) and one of the best GK in the world.

If we ignored the pursuit of the net spend cup we couid have dominated for another 4 or 5 years instead of washing money down the sink with the likes of Phillips, Nunes and Nico.

We've seen football moves in waves and it looks like Liverpool will be the team to beat over the next few years.

Philips, nunes, nico and even jack for 100 mil a total waste. Should have gone for more proven players and instead of 1 doku or savinho ,for a classy winger.

PSR is x5. So basically any win gives you 5x amount you can spend. I saw someone mentioning the finances on reddit. Newcastle can spend something near above 100M right now so by selling Isak they would make like 90M + if the former transfer fee by 63M is right. Now x5 that one .
Yeah, that's not how it works.

I don’t disagree with some of it. The 3 you mentioned are complete duds and were obviously so at the time we went for them as well. I do also think there has been too much patting themselves on the back at board room level re net spend and value at times and that Peps genius has made up for it to an extent.

The idea we’ve never strengthened at the top isn’t true though, we bought Alvarez, Haaland and Akanji after winning the league. We just did 4 in a row as well dude so the squad was good enough to do that… the time we properly took our eye off the ball was last summer.

And also, at the risk of some of the usual pelters whenever you mention his name.. the biggest and most monumental fuck up from this club was with Cole Palmer. They always put buy backs in. They got giddy imo that Chelsea offered 45m so let the buy back slide for the fee and the fact it was a top club and they patted themselves on the back and probably wanked themselves silly at boardroom level but anyone with half a brain knew that was going to come back to bite us on the arse. He’s on record as saying he only wanted to go on loan. If he’s in this squad now we’re still the team to beat imo.

He has three years left on the contract he was happy to sign, now wants his wages trebled - allegedly. I hope Newcastle say here is a small increase and if you score 30 goals in all comps then we will increase your wages again in 12 months but you aren’t going anywhere. And then publicly tell teams to stop tapping up their players and either do things the right way or fuck off.

I don’t understand our fans obsession with other clubs..
We have a great squad, unrivalled success over the last decade and the best manager in the world.
I genuinely don’t worry about any other clubs, especially the weird cult who can’t behave and then blame everyone else.
We will have a fine season, if we add a right back, we have the strength to win this league. If we don’t add a rb we will still challenge and probably win stuff.
It is absolutely weird. It is some kind of defeatism or fatalism among the fanbase that, despite our success, every other team's purchases are better than ours, and will hit the ground running for immediate success. Conversely, ours will be said to take months to be up-to-speed. I imagine their fans are jealous of our club's achievements, and yet our own are relatively dismissive, certainly of the transfer business we have done, constantly wanting more haste. I suspect it has worsened with social media, and fans find it difficult to separate posts seeking engagement by poking the bear from those offering truth and objective analysis.

Is this a serious post?

Absolutely agree

3 years on his contract.
The Saudi’s/PIF won’t budge.
Isak is stuck at Newcastle.

The Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia has an estimated $925 billion in assets under management. It is one of the largest sovereign wealth funds globally. The PIF is a key component of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 plan, aiming to diversify the country's economy away from oil dependence
