Alexander Isak | Cried his way to a £130m move

Barcodes did perform over expectations imo by getting 2x into CL, albeit recent one was due to PL first time ever could send 5 clubs for so bit of luck in that. (and Spurs too with the 6th slot)

in theory neither Spurs or rags should have finished so far away from CL places, and assume that wont really happen too often. Spurs were 5th last season, rags 8th I think.

Barcodes did well using those two falling down but it will be hard now with them having CL fixtures while for example rags sit back and really have one PL game a week and will be fresh like Barcodes were fresh last season apart form the Carabao games here and there.

but Howe punched above their weight as PSR limited them last summer and basically could not make any meaningful signings, they wanted Guehi big time but was priced out of it last summer.
so to get CL place despite that is big result, but again they cannot kick on. they missed out all there targets, which is worse that all ended up at their rivals (Delap, Joao Pedro, Ekitike, Trafford, Mbeumo etc).
now with the Isak saga its replacing him adequately way which is bloody hard as you can spend big on a new striker but if he flops thats a nightmare PSR wise and on the pitch too.

they knew they needed a deeper squad and 2-3 players to improve their best 11, now Elanga is a bit of an upgrade on Barnes-Murphy as a RW but not incredible upgrade.
Ramsdale? to me he is about same level as Pope, better with feet but Pope is a decent shot stopper with less blunders.
this is not enough and they have June, July all gone

Hmmm Isak in say £140 mill and end of season Salah off to Saudi for a £100mill you can bet your house on it ..

Maybe, just maybe Saudi don’t play ball. They’ll rather give Salah the wages than the club that’s disrespected them.

I'd love us to bid the same £120m just to see how it'd be reported on.
yep, would be very interesting. I guess articles would be less about how ambitious Isak is, and how he wants to play at highest level but more about the delay on 115 case, about how PSR not fit anymore.

am I the only one now thinking that 80m including bonuses looks fucking weak compared to Isak price we ended up with Alvarez? and Alvarez few years younger, and not one bit worse striker. if anything better in getting wingers into play which favours dippers who do have high G+A wingers unlike us currently.

I do not think Alvarez is a worse striker than Isak so 1.5-2x price is madness. we may have gave him away too cheap. in a market 60m gets you Solanke, 70m Hojlund and 140m Isak, Alvarez much closer to Isak range for sure if not the same range.
bit different profile, but Alvarez less injury prone, much better at pressing and younger, while Isak is taller, better in the air, more of a finisher than all around attacker.

can see him being impatient if Atletico aint winning big soon and his next move could be 120m+ but could have worth that much last summer too.

sadly you are onto something. somehow the Saudi PIF people dealing with the Saudi clubs transfers are not connected at all to the PIF people running Newcastle, because the way they bankroll rivals of Newcastle is almost laughable Joao Felix the latest but rumours about Saudi move for Darwin Nunez and MArtinelli for insanse amounts.

at least they should buy Matt Targett and Dubravka from Barcodes for 20m each as a goodwill too. :)

Newcastle wants a record 150mil pounds (172mil euros) otherwise they're not letting him go. We should get Livramento to make it even more impossible and because we actually need him.

One thing for certain if Liverpool want to replace Salah goals assist when he
Leaves, Isak injury record is he is he is out for 25% of a clubs game! Salah injury record is like he misses say 2% of all games!

City give up on Haaland

City destroy confidence of golden boy

Erling now linked with Barca to flee club that doesn't respect him

How Man City shot themselves in the foot and this is good news for Liverpool

How Abu Dhabi's investment in bitcoin allowed them to change the rules and bid insane amounts

You'll never hear the end of it!

Nobody was ever gonna give us 100m. People need to understand a player is worth whatever someone wants to buy him at. Antony was worth 50 mil but Utd were willing to pay 95 mil. Bernardo was worth 80 mil in 2021 but nobody was ever able to put that up. The max we ever got was 60.

Hahaha now I've really read everything from other fans:

"I don't know what's going on. But there's a rumor going around that Coutinho's earnings were invested entirely in Bitcoin and that this is now being gradually skimmed off.

I don't know if that's really the case.

I'm just fascinated by the idea..."

They really are the gift that keeps giving

Why is it a ringing endorsement, if he was endorsed by simon jordan or jim white would it hold any weight?
You think Stefan is on the same level as Jim White?!

You know Sefan’s background surely….he knows a thing or two about football finances.
