Alexander Isak | Cried his way to a £130m move

Newcastle linked with Wissa and Kolo Muani. That doesn't sound good. Wissa is a very good player but I don't think much of Kolo Muani. If that is true then Newcastle might as well give up. Isak is under contract for 3 years. What are you doing? It's not like Newcastle are some no hopers and this is Isak's last chance at a league title. He's in his mid-20s.

I didn't think Newcastle would be stupid enough to sell Isak but the transfer links suggest they are planning to sell him. Could be nonsense.
Kolo is better value than Sesko or Gykores. He may surprise many in a positive way. PSG paid big money for him.

You're conflating trying to sign strikers with trying to sign replacements. They wanted Mbuemo, Cunha, Delap, Pedro, Ekitike before Liverpool overtly made their interest known as they have 1 senior striker. They haven't stated a price, they have told Liverpool that they won't sell him (the reports at the bid were he wasn't for sale and Liverpool won't bid again...) and tried to get him to sign an improved contract with a release clause next year. They made him train elsewhere as he made a point of training alone at Sociedad rather than join the tour and he clearly doesn't want to be part of the group - eg it's him driving the division, not the club.

They may sell him if they feel it's untenable to move forward with him (a mistake considering their transfer window) and Liverpool meet whatever valuation they have, but it's not how you framed it
I'm conflating nothing. You are colouring outside the lines.

I would have expected Newcastle to sit tight say nothing, and wait for the window to shut but it looks like they are preparing to bring players in and to sell him. That makes me miserable because it will make beating Liverpool to the title so much harder.

Maybe they don't want to risk going into the season with a low motivation forward.

Benching him and giving him a couple of mins of derision in injury time might serve as a warning to the rest of the squad. Isak has behaved like an A1 **** and he has shat all over the club and the fans. I’m sure there’s no way back for him and he’ll get his move but what an appalling way to behave.

Yes, yes you are pal, you've made a narrative to stick to. They released Wilson and have 1 senior striker, and so were always looking at getting another in. If Isak is sold they would need two. The rest is literally what has been reported.

I think it is pretty obvious they want to sell him. For the number of reasons I have stated. Next they will be leaving him out under some pretence or another, but really to avoid injury that might scupper the move.

He scores a few goals and all is forgiven. Spurs fans are still celebrating Harry Kane.
Can't see it. If Newcastle bring in Jackson, they'll sell Isak. At this point Isak is more of a hindrance to the club whereas Kane wasn't. It's a massive downgrade, but it's not entirely their fault and nobody expected the player to conduct himself in this manner. Disgraceful behaviour.

Wasn't he the lad who was caught on camera at the end of Newcastle vs Liverpool saying something like "see you pre-season" to one of the Liverpool players?
Not sure those were the words but you could clearly see the discussion at the end of the game and the body language certainly suggested he’d be moving there..

Well it was obvious regardless if they get wissa and muani or whoever. I guess they will get wissa and go on this season with 3 strikers to be less dependent on Isak. If Isak wants to keep his value he will have to show his quality for at least another season. I am always for not selling players who are making such a problem. Obviously we don’t know what they have been talking about in private but I am always amazed how footballers can do such stuff. Imagine a 9-5 guy doing that at work. Incredible how privileged they are
