Alexander Isak | Cried his way to a £130m move

Let's be honest Liverpool are far more attractive club and bigger than Newcastle. I don't agree what he has done, but I fully understand it. He has a chance of winning the league with Liverpool, Newcastle are never winning the league or competing for it. Of course I don't want him to join them because he will turn them into clear favourites to the league.
Then hand in a transfer request or just wait 12 months, when you've only got two years left on your deal and Newcastle have to sell for £100m because they know the price is only gonna go down. To do all this with basically no leverage is mental from Isak.

Unfortunately, that's why I think this still gets signed. There's only so much bleating the club can do when they've got a rivals player doing the exact same thing to sign for them.
It gets done if Liverpool meet their valuation, let's be honest. He can moan all he wants, but he's one of the best strikers in the world, 25 years old, in the middle of a contract at a club that doesn't need to sell. It's not unreasonable that they demand a record fee for him. Liverpool have submitted a decent bid, but it's still less than what we reportedly had rejected for a pretty old Harry Kane.

The position of Isak and Newcastle is now untenable IMHO mate, he has shit the proverbial bed. Imagine if the scouse say they don't want him now though? That'll be a fine ending to an outstandingly mad transfer window all round.
They wont say that...this is going their way..they know it and its just matter of waiting..even if its another 12 months they will get him.

The mistake the scousers made was buying Ekiteke - if he had gone to the Newcastle they probably (although reluctantly) would have let Isak go...especially if the scousers made a second improved bid...

the fact that newcastle cant find a replacement striker is probably the only other reason Newcastle are holding out now.

I followed the Ekitike saga but apparently they wanted him last summer, and they were also after Marmoush. The issue is for them is no one wants to join Newcastle and I don't understand why. Why these players are choosing to join United who have nothing over them is baffling.

Why would you when you have Isak? He's got three years left. They're not going to do better.
they need a backup. Isak is injury prone + they sold Wilson. A striker is a must have unless they want gordon as false 9 all season. With Isak or a striker they win against Villa

Maybe so. I still don't understand why Newcastle would sell him when a disgruntled Isak is still better than anything out there.

Happy to sit back and watch this one from afar. Fuck the scousers

Wages?

Lets be honest, Newcastle are a stepping stone club. They are nowhere near the level of City/Liverpool/Arsenal they haven't won anything in 50 years and they can't compete for the league. Newcastle wouldn't qualified to CL if it weren't from some dodgy referring during Aston Villa United game. So no wonder why they have trouble attracting players and why their first team players would rush joining other clubs.

Let's be honest we have had players throw tantrums like this to join us, and I bet if we went for Bruno and Livermento and Newcastle held firm. They would do the same thing. Newcastle can't compete against us, Liverpool, Arsenal and Cheslea. Heck players would rather join a 15th United side over them which is really telling.
Clubs change and develop a few years ago we could buy players from Liverpool and Arsenal now we can't. Before that we couldn't hold onto ambitious players.
Newcastle don't want to be seen as pushovers and fair play to them. And they actually won more than we did last season.

Newcastle got rejected by: Delap, Pedro, Cunha, Mbeumo, Ekitike, Guehi, Gyokeres. Sadly they don't have the wages to compete against the top 6. It's worth for them to try to negotiate with Isak and integrate him back.

Nobody can stop what’s going to happen to Isak whenever Liverpool are in an away fixture, apart from in Europe. Domestically this transfer has gotten hostile and nasty as far as Isak and what he’s doing to Newcastle is concerned. Add to that the high profile destination the transfer is to, people in those away grounds are going to let him know.

The irony is the media are now driving up how much of a shit Isak is coming across as with his sad little Instagram post.
Yes - I do agree he’s looking a proper twat through all this.

How times have changed - could you imagine Cloughie dealing with all this!?

You are ignoring the fact that during our era we didn't have PSR and neither Chelsea did. Newcastle will have to work 10 times harder to be an attractive club compared to Arsneal, Liverpool. Heck, they can't even compete against a United team with no CL and sinking ship squad.

It's not that simple. Naming a 150m price is a smart move by Newcastle. They know Liverpool can't pay it for non-financial reasons.

Again: theoretically, we can we pay 150m for Livramento. All day. But, practically, we can't. Doesn't make sense.

I read somewhere the other day that Liverpool have recouped over £200 million on sales this window. Add to the fact they didn’t spend much last summer they clearly can afford Newcastle’s valuation.

Not only that, but they’ve spent around double his valuation on players this summer.

It’s not Newcastle’s problem that Liverpool have tapped up Isak, prioritised spending money on other players, signed Isak’s potential replacement and given Newcastle a low ball offer.

If Liverpool bid around £130 million and Newcastle rejected it then I could understand his frustration, but they didn’t.

FFP / PSR has done its job on NUFC. They have managed to win a trophy and get CL football and yet still they cannot compete. The regulatory framework is designed to prevent competition.

In fairness to Liverpool, they did stop any public games and pursuits, once their offer was rejected. It has all been on Isak, this, they have stayed out of it since.

Whatever might be going on in the background, they haven't publicly interfered with Newcastle's stance in weeks.
Its very naive to think that this is not all from Liverpool tapping him upp and telling him to race hell so they can sign him, I so much hope Newcastle report Liverpool for tapping upp wich happened

I didn't say that. I said publicly.

Liverpool appear powerful at this moment. This is the team that Isak wants to join but everything that Liverpool have done in the transfer market is predicated on Isak signing. I thought they had made a mistake in extending Salah's contract but they were planning on a transition with Isak as their new centre forward. They have sold Diaz and Nunez and now they are down to 4 forwards. It appears that Newcastle will be unable to replace Isak and have been backed into a corner where no strategy makes sense. If Newcastle keep Isak, Liverpool will struggle to defend their title with 4 forwards and the so-called 'well managed' club will have blundered.
