Alexander Isak | Cried his way to a £130m move

ha ha ha near end of transfer window time for red media to switch tack and start blaming newcastle for not compromising and helping liverpool sign player the press say deserves to move
big bad newcastle rightly want 150 pay up or shut up

So Liverpool is going to spend 450mil in one window while we are penny pinching for Donnarumma and a right back? Can someone remind Viana we need those players and we are one of the richest clubs in the world.
The money isn't relevant is it, and you know it.

We have too many players at the moment.

We have 4 goalkeepers for a start.

Our bench last week was Rodri, Foden, Ake, Ederson, Doku, Silva, Nunes, Khusanov and O'Reilly.

Then we have Gundogan, Gvardiol, Ortega, Kovacic, Akanji and Savinho who cannot make the bench and are in the squad right now.

This is why Pep is unhappy with the amount of players we currently have that he knows he cannot and won't give game time to.

So do you. It's simply my opinion and an assumption so give it a rest.

I agree and I don't understand why we didn't offload those older players this Summer. Because Chelsea and Liverpool easily got rid of the players they don't want anymore. We need quite a few more reinforcements and yet we are not getting them or selling players that aren't going to play much either. It's just nothing. Horrible approach considering we are rebuilding.

Of those you listed we should keep the following:

Rodri, Foden, Ake, Doku, Silva, Nunes, Khusanov and O'Reilly, Gvardiol, Kova, Savinho.

Sell: Gundogan, Ederson, Ortega, Akanji

Still too big a squad if you factor we would need a keeper so effectively a net loss of just three. That's why I think potentially Kova and one other might also go.

We didn't offload them because they are human beings, not a pair of old socks. Coming off the back of our worst season in a decade some here are seemingly surprised that clubs aren't going crazy to pick up aging players on huge contracts.

The club have clearly made it quite clear that several don't fit in anymore but there is little to no interest in any of them or at least nothing that the player themselves wants to do.

What is your solution to this?

I know they are not but this a ruthless business, we all know that.
I highly doubt there is no interest whatsoever in Ederson, Ortega, Gundogan, Kovacic, Bernardo, Ake, Stones and Akanji. They are old but still decent for most clubs. Not good enough for us anymore though. We need to rebuild.

You make it sound so easy but it’s not
Akanji lives in Wilmslow he likes it here his family are here he has a contract so any deal also need to suit him
How would you like it if I told you you’re moving to Gretna Green next week

So City are doing what, just keeping them for the sake of it?

I am interested in owning a Bugatti but I dont have the finances to do it.

Brentford had a bid rejected for a Dortmund striker and aren't looking likely to up their offer (Ornstein). Think Wissa moving is essential to Isak moving - unless Newcastle are happy to hamstring themselves

My opinion is they are keeping them because others who are interested in them are not offering the asking price. We are refusing to accept Galatasaray offer for Ederson because of a 2mil difference so unless someone offers an exact amount we ask for (which nobody ever does) we'll not let them go.

You have no clue what has or hasn't been offered. None of us do.

What sounds more likely..

City are cutting of their own nose over 2m
or
Clubs have so far offered fuck all for these players.

Haven't had Sky for years, but haven't they always just overhyped "Transfer Deadline Day" ?
Do they still have a Jim White-type (in a yellow tie) getting excited at Brentford's training ground ?
Sky’s deadline day is more like the price is right these days, just need to dig up Leslie crowther (old uns only) and away you go.
Shouty Jim fucked off to talkshite a few years ago to bait the gullible for headlines.

Stones and Bernardo aren’t good enough for us anymore?

I get Bernardo didn’t have a great last season and Stones is injury prone.
But I disagree that they aren’t good enough to play for us.

Bernardo is 31 and Foden+Cherki are taking his space now. Stones is 32 and injury prone.
