I don’t condone how they treat illegal immigrants in America whilst they are in the process but I do condone stopping illegal immigrants and either deporting them or granting them asylum based on whether they meet refugee status or not.

I thought that would be clear but never mind.

Why don’t you give your opinion rather than doing what you usually do, which is making snide comments in every thread without the intention of having an honest conversation?
I’ve given my opinion on Johnson which is what this thread is about and I’ve just given my opinion on your blatant twisting of facts.

It’s no longer worthwhile having any discussion with you since you returned from your break from the forum last year. I used to rate you as a poster and probably agreed with you much of the time but since your return you appear to have taken on the mantle of an angry little Englander slagging everyone off who disagrees with you, and sharing opinions with bloviating bullshitters. Unfortunately it’s difficult to avoid you on here as you seem to be on every fucking thread.

The bedroom tax has made it very difficult for a divorced parent to see their children when the other parent has custody.
How?

I am far more concerned with people not getting divorced in the first place but I am intrigued to see how, that’s a genuinely honest question.

What facts have I twisted?

You call me an “angry little Englander” for merely disagreeing with your ideology of liberal globalisation. I don’t dish out personal abuse without receiving it first, I don’t ever tell you that your views are immoral or shouldn’t be held. I appreciate you have a contrasting view to me and I understand your views perfectly, as I used to hold them.

Contrast that with your view of right wing politics and I honestly believe you need to read more. You just do what the others on here do and throw everyone into the same bin of being to the right of Blair so you won’t acknowledge it.

I am in a lot of threads but the difference between you and I is that I actually have a go at discussing ideological differences and I point out where people have got that wrong. I don’t feel you’re able to do that so you go around making 2 line snide posts to WUM people.

I can tell you pigeon hole people with you writing-
sharing opinions with bloviating bullshitters
The irony here is, you’re someone who is New Labour, in terms of aligning a political position. You share opinions with the people who bullshitted to invade Iraq.

Why am I bringing that up? Well because being attacked for sharing the odd opinion with people who’s wider character is flawed, is deeply unfair.

Yes I may share views on abortion with some Donald Trump supporting racist idiot but it doesn’t mean the rest of my views and character equal that persons. To suggest so is immensely ignorant.

Being able to converse honestly and openly with those we disagree with is a great trait in people, I’ve never wummed you nor personally abused you, yet you don’t seem capable of doing it, without getting angry, whilst ironically claiming I am angry.

I will resist the temptation to respond in detail because it will just prompt even more unsubstantiated bollocks from you.

The judge himself noted that the bedroom tax “causes considerable problems for parents who have shared care arrangements for their children”

Shared care and the bedroom tax: can housing and family law be reconciled? - Becket Chambers (becket-chambers.co.uk)
So I have read your link and I have to say I am in agreement.

It is no business of the state to enforce additional taxes, based on what’s already taxed in council tax and the rest, making it more difficult for the poor.

This bit, I am in total agreement with the tenant. Why is the state getting so involved in such a situation and claiming tax on the boy’s 2nd bedroom?
The bedroom in question was used by the tenant’s son, who split his time between his parents. As the judge noted, arrangements had been made “amicably between the parents, for the benefit of their children, without the need for court orders.” The tenant argued that the bedroom tax should not apply given the shared care arrangement in place, which required the use of the bedroom for his son.

What I will say is, I think divorce is the considerably bigger issue, this is an inconvenience but I agree it’s a significant one and I have always been against the bedroom tax.

Again, this goes back to my point, the Tories aren’t necessarily the moral purveyors of conservative values and I particularly detested Cameron and his government.

it's not a tax. It's a withdrawal of benefit. The state decreed what someone needs as an income and paid housing benefit, but then introduced a penalty if they have children the wrong age or share custody. It led to poverty, or people having to move house to a 2-bedroom instead of their 3-bedroom property costs of moving). Then because 2-bedroom properties were suddenly in demand, they became in some cases dearer than 3-bed. Stress of moving home, children having to move school. It's an evil policy. The social costs have outweighed the saving of benefit - and now we all now that there always was money, as the magic money tree sprouts branches everywhere.

Johnson today, "There is no point in us vaccinating our individual populations - we've got to make sure the whole world is vaccinated because this is a global pandemic and it's no use one country being far ahead of another, we've got to move together."

This, after a month of crowing about getting his orders in first and how many people in the UK have been vaccinated.

I'm sure Biden appreciated Boris calling him by his first name today rather than address his title.
