So you think that he is right and everyone else, including the scientists, have got it wrong??

The scientists don’t have to take into account the economic and societal impacts and so they can give advice from an epidemiological angle - but it’s not up to them what policy is. Although plenty of scientists suggest he’s doing the right thing tbf. I and most peoole I know do not support restrictions regardless of what *some* scientists say so you can’t claim ‘everyone’ has a consensus and that Boris is going against it.

I can't agree with Johnson when one of the 3 central planks of his strategy is testing and there is a shortage of test kits. If fewer or no-one is getting tested then the number of positives falls BUT the numbers hospitalised will increase - the ultimate false positive

To be honest, I doubt that Johnson is making decisions with the interest for the country, he is now making them out of the interest of himself due to the abysmal fuck ups that have been seen recently.

They are scientist not ecoomists?

I think that you will find on balance there are more scientist advising the government to do more than they are which is basically nothing. The most important group SAGE Johnson is ignoring its not as though we haven't been here before? Just ask yourself this question why are all our neighbours? Wales Scotland and Northern Ireland

Scientists criticised the decision, which came as England recorded its highest number of Covid infections. They said it was the moment of “the greatest divergence between scientific advice and legislation” seen since the start of the pandemic.
I'm not sure which papers you read ?

The decision to do nothing is purely political, Johnson is sinking in the polls faster than a crack hoare about to give head. The right wing headbanger backbenchers in the party are having none of anything he says anymore they know he's finished. At the same time Johnson is a right wing populist and his behaviour has been consistent all along do nothing which will make him unpopular with his base.

Johnson was put in position where he couldn't ask/tell the country to do anything because of his stupid downing st parties. Obviously he and his govt were idiots for having them, but you have to wonder what the motivations were behind the people who sat on the photos for 8-12 months, then put them in the news just as the govt was considering the possibilities for restrictions to deal with Omicron.
Sturgeon is no better - just operates at right angles to Westminster to make her own political points. When it works out she crows, when it doesn't she goes missing.

What Sturgeon says or does has no relevance to me or you. Most of the Scotland based posters don’t seem to share your view, and as her policies and leadership has a direct effect on their lives it suggests that their opinions on her have a bit more credibility than yours.
