Asked to respond to the announcement of Downing Street's apology, Buckingham Palace declined to comment.

Asked why Number 10 had apologised rather than Mr Johnson himself, the spokesman said: "Well, again, the prime minister said earlier misjudgements have been made and it's right people apologise, as the prime minister did earlier this week.

Fucking coward

I wouldn't expect the Palace to issue anything more than an acknowledgement of receipt.

Johnson's next visit might be a little uncomfortable for him though!

14 parties just reported on the news. Defended Cummings illegal trip and also Wanksocks antics. What does a man have to do to get the chop. Also will have a backlog of refunds for anyone fined for gatherings during that time.

Dear All
Re: Dignified Exit.
Sorry for misleading the house, and the country at large, multiple times.
Sorry for disrespecting you all, and my colleagues.
Sorry about not erring on the safe side if there was the slightest doubt that I might not be following the rules.
Oh, and, sorry about the redecoration malarkey - about funding - I didn't really coco!
In fact, I didn't really coco anything - and I've no bally idea where Barnyard Castle is, or whatever it's called.
I was assured that everything was tickety boo, and I've had my people pen a note to HM, offering apologies - if needed (can't think why).
Such a fuss over a sniffter or 2 - can't see what everyone's getting so het-up about, but, there we are.
So, anyway, as per Bridgen's suggestion, I'm off - making my dignified exit.
Onwards Carrie! Out of the breach, ma cherie amour! That-a-girl!
Chow for now, peeps.
Boris.
