Cannot for the life of me think why they need extra time to hand over these messages unless they are trying to somehow delete the offending messages beforehand. That's exactly what they are doing.

It's remenisicent of the Cambridge analytica scandal when the home secretary (May) gave the order the seize their computers over vote rigging using social media. She gave them 3 days notice to wipe/lose the hard drives.
