Labour should emphasise that very point - as should all opposition parties at the next election; the fact that our politics has been stained so badly by the lack of integrity and Government lies, which Tory after Tory chose to defend for so long - and many are still doing so. Add that to continuing mismanagement of the economy; billions wasted on contracts for the boys; parties for the boys; peerages for the boys - and the girl who did his fuckin' hair, for God's sake!

If the Conservatives get crushed at the general election, there will be a brief struggle for control of the party.

On one side, those who have filled their boots and support Johnson; on the other, those who will pin all the recent failings on him and his actions. They'll likely have 3 years to fight before needing to think about the next election, possibly affected by local elections in the interval.

They'll also need a new leader and the pool looks a bit bare for that choice. I can't think of any of the front bench who would give them a good chance of recovery.
