The Times reported that Johnson’s 1995 Toyota Previa people carrier, which had three parking tickets and a mocking flyer on its windscreen, had been parked outside the flat before being driven away. Another neighbour told the newspaper: “It’s got loads of parking tickets on it. He just leaves it here. He doesn’t care.”

He does. And it was ordinary men and women doing a job that helped facilitate it. If the State sanctions an action no matter how reprehensible then millions of ordinary men and women will either work to make it happen or simply allow it to happen. Evil is largely a mundane affair carried out with the explicit or implicit help of mundane ordinary people.

What ever route the politicians take millions are going to be pissed off. All our politicians are doing is calculating the best route that pisses off the least number for their party and, to a much lesser extent, does less harm to the country and our Union going forward.

And whilst we can blame the politicians it is us who elect them and us who tolerate their lies and us who will feed their delusions and us who will paint fellow citizens as ‘Remainers’ or ‘Leavers’ and us that drive division and it will be us that will pay the price.

Well given I didn’t reference Brexit and was commenting on the Nazi regime and how genocide can only be actively pursued on an industrial scale with the consent and active support of the population. It was a commentary on how ordinary people can do reprehensible acts when it is sanctioned by the State.

You are seeing how it grows in the US where the DOJ is actively arguing that the ‘camps’ set up for migrant children do not have to provide access to basic sanitary needs like toothbrushes. It’s about dehumanising people to the extent that their elimination becomes acceptable.

In short stop whining.

The problem is that there are a significant number of people who only respond well to simple solutions spelt out in terms they can understand that are usually sound bites with no substance. Trump has mastered this as has Johnson. An example would be if a terrorist is caught and some people will say fuck their rights, waterboard them, then kill them slowly and painfully. That might appeal to people’s base instincts but intelligent people know that the rule of law needs to be applied or anarchy and authoritarianism will ensue. Trump and Johnson will say outrageous shit that appeals to these thick idiots and they will see it as politicians being honest but in reality they couldn’t be being more dishonest.

No one is accusing brexiteers or tories in general of being nazis as far I have seen.

But there is a genuine concern johnson is being influenced and conned by bannon who is a white supremacist.
