No condemnation of Johnson's comments on Muslim women wearing the burka from Downing Street.
Islamophobia in the Tory party? You're 'avin a larf.
Nothing to see here.
Move along now to the anti semitism in Labour thread.
Make no mistake, Johnson's comments were extremely insensitive and clearly designed to cause offence. But given that the burqa isn't a requirement of Islam, can criticising it really be classed as Islamaphobic? It's the choice of clothing he's criticising, not the religion. Some non-Muslim women choose to wear burqas/niqabs over here and I'd imagine Johnson would think they they look like letterboxes too.No condemnation of Johnson's comments on Muslim women wearing the burka from Downing Street.

Yes, pushes.Pushes?
I'm guessing that Belgium is safe from criticism !!

What amazes me is there are more women who wear it in the U.K. percentage wise, than wear it in the main city’s of Pakistan. One of the things that was funny, but for the delicate PC brigade we seem to have on board, was not meant to be funny, was the woman with the burqua in the Icecream queue. Curiosity got the better of me and my family and we sat and waited for about 10 minutes until she got served on how was she going to eat it. It was a Mr Whippy so would she risk getting it down her gown by lift the burqua eat it through the slot using her tongue or ultimately take it off in her Adam and Eve moment. The actual outcome was totally unexpected and a bit of an anti climax. She just paid for it and gave it to her young daughter who was sat about 4 benches further down. A totally disappointing outcome.
I personally am against the Burqa.
I wouldn't make the comments that Johnson has made in public, but I have often thought it. I personally find it oppressive and something that is not required in our society.
It pushes multi culturism just a step too far for me.

Not sure.Did any of their senior government politicians compare women wearing the burqa to bank robbers?
Yes, pushes.
There are elements of multi culturism that I find difficult to accept, things like Sharia Law, beheadings and executions, FGM. Things that I think most common sense posters on here would agree are offensive to our society.
To me the Burqa takes, pushes (take your choice) or if you prefer is a step too far for me personally.
Theres already a thread about this.
I’m not top up on Sharia Law but my instinct tells me that it isn’t as extreme or as brutal as some individuals of YouTube, Daily Mail, etc fame would have us believe.
