Alexandole Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

1985;

The House of Commons approved revisions of the country's divorce laws today, voting to allow couples to start proceedings after only one year of marriage instead of three.

The Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Bill, approved in a 119-16 vote, also ends the alimony right of divorced wives that ex-husbands have complained amounted to virtual lifetime support.

The bill, introduced by Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's Conservative Government, is expected to take effect next fall despite bitter attacks on it by church leaders.

THen we've got the 'right to buy' scheme which saw families saddled with debts they couldn't afford.
Add the rise of availability to get easy credit.
Kids growing up in one parent households (i know that's a fave of yours).

Conservative policy
Did you read the 2nd small paragraph I wrote?

That’s a Conservative party policy, not a conservative policy.

Just as Blair was leader of a socialist party and wasn’t socialist.

Regarding the right to buy scheme, ownership of property is very much conservative, so I agree with your first poi but not your 2nd.

Nobody has a problem with separating Blairism from the traditional Labour Party movement, but they seem to think every single thing the Tories do is the conservative ideology being enacted... its not.

Don't really see much difference but i'm on my first beer and smoke of the day so crack on, im out.

I did come on to say, wait for it......, Bojo's gone up a hell of a lot in my estimation recently. Although that's not too hard considering how low he was in the first place.
To give him his due he's not hidden away and has been all over the place doing stuff. Saw him last night on tv trying to wipe down a plastic chair in a covid centre. I thought, he's never done that before but he gave it a good go.
He talks to joe public well and seems to listen a bit.
Politically he's still a twat but overall i think he's been pretty good in handling this unprecedented situation.

@Ban-jani

Made you a separate thread to discuss your beliefs as they seem to be cropping up in most threads and diverting wildly away from topic.
It’s because in most threads the same few people refuse to acknowledge and understand basic political concepts. The reason they do not is because as Vic admitted, they don’t read from opposing views.

Nobody is going to post in that thread you’ve created, because they don’t want to know what conservatism actually is, they just want to stay ignorant by thinking it’s everything and all the Tory is and does.

Doesn’t surprise me.

Next time Blair is brought up I’ll blame the Iraq War and his NHS privatisation on socialism, no worries.
Oh fuck off with that.
The next time i've not done 5 hours graft, taken wife to doctors, walked mutt, fucked off a smack head burglar from the street and generally had nowt but shit to deal with all day i'll get back to you and probably blame all that on fucking religion.

Start it off then. I'll be honest I find it boring but maybe you can prove yourself wrong by drawing in other posters.

Frustrating isn’t it, when people are purposefully ignorant about your position.

There are concentration camps TODAY in China containing people whose only crime is being the wrong ethnicity, so I’m not taking any lectures from lefties about the evils of extremism. People who believe they are morally or intellectually superior are dangerous whether they are from the right or left.
There are concentration camps on US soil TODAY.

Nobody is lecturing you, if you are secure in your belief system, you will surely see it as a challenge to explain your beliefs without feeling inferior to those you say are morally and intellectually superior.

You have already stated what you see as extremist, so any leftie challenging your notion of extremist is now cancelled, a trait that is on the rise and becoming commonplace on the right. Maybe you don't see the contradiction.

Whilst I am not in favour of the techniques used.

These people did illegally enter the country and will be either deported or granted asylum based on their situation.

Of course it doesn’t always happen like that and the US needs to get its act together, let’s not forget it was happening under Obama.

It is, however, totally different to whats happening in China. Where people have been forcibly removed from their homes and transported by train to “education camps”, indefinitely.

I don’t think I need to tell anyone on this forum, well I hope not, how chilling that is to hear or read.

No. What's frustrating is your smart arse ''doesn't surprise me' reply.
Well it doesn’t, I read the same on here every single day by multiple people.

Every single time I talk to anyone about conservatism I get “well the Tories...” as if I’m not deeply unhappy with how unconservative they can be.

They're being kept under a fucking fly-over. Kids are kept in worse. Hiding behind the 'it's illegal' shield is also pretty fucking 'chilling'.

Condone the lot of them regardless of what fucking political philosophy you choose to blame it on.

I didn’t condone it, did I?

In fact I said “the US needs to get its act together”.

I just said they’re different circumstances.

The detaining of illegal immigrants and applying the law is what all countries do, the US just need to improve massively how they do it, I have spoken against it many times.

What China is doing is putting people against their will into concentration camps, that live within its borders.

It is a different thing but as usual, it’s not the UK or US so we have to play a game about how it’s not utterly reprehensible.

If that’s not condoning it to some extent what is?

I don’t condone how they treat illegal immigrants in America whilst they are in the process but I do condone stopping illegal immigrants and either deporting them or granting them asylum based on whether they meet refugee status or not.

I thought that would be clear but never mind.

Why don’t you give your opinion rather than doing what you usually do, which is making snide comments in every thread without the intention of having an honest conversation?
