Broadly true, it became a self-fulfilling prophecy, but it wasn't helped by internal party bickering and Corbyn's failure to reach across the progressive spectrum. Obviously there were some people who would never have accepted that such as Berger, Smeeth, Streeting and Swinson, for their own cynical reasons.

Without enough support from Liberals and greens to tactically vote for you in marginals rather than against you- Labour will never be able to form a government.

From 2017 onwards his office went back into their limited idealogy rather than coming out with radical and realistic policies and pushing them into the public sphere for long enough before the election.

Obviously Brexit limited the ability to do that, plus the age demographics are always against that platform in FPTP system.

I can't disagree.

When I look at the growth in violent crime, the 159% increase in homelessness, the collapse of social care and mental health services, the broken promises on housebuilding, the doubling of the national debt (pre-pandemic), the recruitment issues in health and education, one in four major UK companies paying no tax, advertising the Cayman Islands at the party conference, £21 trillion ferreted offshore and all of the disaster that is the pandemic response, the UN declaring the race inquiry to be worthless and then the delayed inquiries into his personal conduct, I simply despair that a man such as him, and a political party that delivered this over the last decade, was ever re-elected and it says something catastrophic about our nation that they were.

Corbyn committed political suicide the day he openly declared war on the Mugdock ked rw media and threatened to breaking up if he got into power.

I read a powerful piece about a think tank that had, effectively, recommended to the current government that they enhance the divisions in society and encourage words like: snowflake, remoaner, Marxist, liberal, radical, anarchist, and commie. The article suggested that the use of such words, and the polarisation that ensues, keep your support from shifting and seals it to your party. I have been shut out of debate by people using those words to belittle the argument you make, "Yeah, but you're a lefty." has been said to me by my family many times.
When people will not shift their position, and you have a large majority, you can pretty much do what you wish, supported by a press that doesn't want change because your party supports the British territories as they continue their global dominance over tax evasion.

This being the same Nadine Dorries who submitted fraudulent expenses totalling £24,000 for renovations to her house.

The same Nadine Dorries who employs one of her daughters as a researcher on £80,000 a year.

The same Nadine Dorries who employs her other daughter as an 'aide' on £25,000 a year despite the fact she is employed full time in a solicitors office.

The same Nadine Dorries whose ex husband Peter booked hotel rooms for when he was away on business trips in the name of Mr N Dorries. (wonder what happened to those receipts?)

I think the problem is that all this stuff is largely being metwith a resigned shrug of the shoulders because expectations of BJ are so low. Pretty much any other pm would be long gone under the same circumstances. Essentially the people who are pissed of and angry with him are the same ones who already hated him. So long as he keeps the pubs and schools open most of the population don't care.

These think tanks have been active since the 70s, they are all based around Tufton Street. They grew out of the Frankfurt/Chicago schools of economics who were pushing the ideas of Hayek and Friedman. The think tanks are funded by the wealthy and the post WW2 social consensus was seen as excluding wealthy people from what is rightfully there's. So the think tanks work on their behalf, people like the Koch Brothers and the Barclay Brothers.

The culture war stuff all comes from them, it started with cultural Marxism, you can even watch people such as Thomas Sowell and that fucking idiot Peterson declaring that Cultural Marxism is real, when it is in fact an antisemitic conspiracy theory that was originally used by fascists and was called Cultural Bolshevism.

All the culture stuff emanates from these right wing think tanks, it is used to ferment division and who benefits from the division of the working classes, the Capitalist class, they gain more power and as we are seeing now they are using that power to rape and pillage the nations treasury.

They are in effect convincing the working class to vote against their own interests and for the interests of the capitalist class. This flag waving nonsense, statues, moaning about not being able to say your English and other assorted shit all comes from these fuckers. They have a plethora of useful idiots like Farage and Johnson willing to go along with it because it all makes them wealthier.

If i was in power I would close down every think tank in the land for good, they are fucking poison.
 
It's interesting that the Mail is leading the charge on Johnson. They have gotten most of the exclusives on the flat refurbishment and they have a VERY detailed article today on the whole saga. He clearly has upset someone there :)

Johnson appears to be under the control of Carrie Symonds and unless this relationship ends sooner than expected (it won't last) she could be responsible for him getting the boot. He should bin her on the basis that the Egyptian brothel vibe of the refurb is fucking horrific alone.

Not a problem for me..step forward Priti Patel.
