Whitty and Vallance come over as having the patience of saints as they walk Tweedledum through it.
It also suggests that Cummings had done his research and had a handle on what might be going on, Hancock was reasonably informed on the current state of things, and Johnson was desperate to infer the best possible from bare stats, and then exclude the worst possible completely.

It all stems from the fact that the Tories view everything through the prism of money - thats whats behind the Gove comments today about withholding benefits from parents of kids wagging off school - its why they let the arts wither on the vine and why they turned down the chance for bands and performers to still tour the EU. Its " what does it make" and " how much of that can come to me, my mates and our donors" - always has been always will be
