Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Yes and it was fine at discussing the thread subject until, as per usual in every political thread a couple of poster have to nudge it in another direction.

There is no need to bring trump into it and don't know why that particular poster did, I replied to you in particular as you brought specific party politics into it with the circus commemt and Hilary, as said I would prefer if the thread was about the lass herself and the new congress memebrs not trump, hillary or general rep/dem bollocks.

I think she's a wingnut.

I've followed her progress in the last 6 months, especially, but have known about her in the last year.

She won't succumb to the lobbyists, but you will see her do the Pelosi Dance, while she positions herself better.

Her influence is extremely strong, but she's a new congress woman and has much to learn about House politics.

She worked on Bernie Sanders' campaign and that's how she came on my radar & twitter feed - I liked her messages and things to say, even if she didn't always have the answers or fully understand the complexities (Palestine issue is a good example). Michael Moore's 11/9 film covered her & other young grassroot women running for public office against established candidates with big money & party support. It's certainly refreshing but again, the resistance to big money & towing the typical party lines will be fundamental if there is going to be any 'real' change ultimately

I despise Pelosi and can envision her trying to teach the young Puerto Rican to learn how to compromise since Pelosi has regularly said one thing and done/voted another. So long as AOC is not appropriated by Hillary's block I will be hopeful but DC is a cesspool

She is great and I do love so much about her - I have long been pretty pessimistic about US politics but there is a glimmer of hope about what we are beginning to see. Just hope it builds into something rather than fizzle out and more than learning about House politics, let's hope it changes House politics

Agreed overall and I COMPLETELY forgot she worked for the Sanders campaign! Ha!ha!

It was a comment to do with there's more than Cortez elected that should make the US electorate excited. You can tell she's shook the privileged old white guys already and she's only bee in her position for 3 days.
