Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Its about reducing environmental damage of travel - there is no suggestion there would be zero air travel just a reduction - there would be huge numbers of jobs created building the infrastructure, manufacturing the trains, running the trains, staffing the trains and stations - as the article makes clear the rest of the developed world are doing this - America is decades behind the rest of the world in this technology - thats not MAGA philosophy surely is it? To run a 1970's rail service?
I can't say if it's to totally eliminate or reduce anything. She has, as of yesterday, taken it off her website.

For what it's worth, whoever provided this Green New Deal to her for introduction to the public should have had it as a well-written concept if you will. It was not well written. Before you decide that she did this all by herself keep in mind she is in an office barely a month usually things like this are provided to members of Congress or senators by interest groups and then rolled out on their behalf with the legislator generally taking credit for the idea. That being said, if this was all her idea and her doing then clearly she's not a very good writer and whatever university graduated her with honours should rethink it's grading system.

So chicagoblue and his highly trained pilot coworkers should just shut up and get a job for considerably less money and benefits swinging a pick axe or laying asphalt? Makes sense. A jobs a job.

Getting another job would be better than dying in the resulting storm of our utter ignorance with regards to the environment.

I wouldn't feel that way if I were a pilot and the government took control of a private industry and essentially shut it down this eliminating my job. But, I suppose that's a difference between us. You believe the government should have control enough to stop a lawful private insudtry. I do not.

Can you tell me how ensuring economic stability/prosperity for those "unwilling to work" affects the environment?

Thank you for telling me what I believe.

I actually don’t believe the government should take over the air travel industry, my point was purely on the importance compared to the environment.

I wasn't trying to tell you that. The way you wrote it it conveyed that you believe it. For what it's worth, the crap attitude isn't becoming and sometimes I think that's why discussions devolve into arguments here.

Yes you were, you specifically stated my belief which wasn’t true to what I actually think.

For what it’s worth I don’t have a crap attitude.

I meant the thank you for telling me what I think. That is more adverserial than informational. It is what I meant.

I read what you wrote. From the information you gave I took that and made an opinion. You said nothing more than people should be happy to lose their job and get another to deal with it. I had little more to go on.

I'm still waiting for you to explain how providing economic stability and or prosperity for those "unwilling to work" fixes any real or perceived environmental disasters.
