Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

You’ve admitted there you don’t know and either of us could be right.

The difference is I’m not accusing him of racism and misogyny without knowing whether it’s a case of him just not liking her or whether he’s a bigot.

He could be both, it could just be the former but because we cannot know for sure, it’s wise to not automatically presume and start a race debate.

The whole purpose of getting past race was to make it as important as eye or hair colour, ie not at all important, yet the left continuously wants to push it to the forefront of the debate.

Why do you think the working classes vote against you every election? They’re sick of it.

Well, from the language he used he's at the very least a gross misogynist. Unfit for office. But you guys love that shit - the more unfit for office, the more you admire them. Guess it shows that even dumb, empathy-free losers can prosper.

“You guys love that”.

Who do I love that’s in office?

He’s called her a fucking woman, that’s inappropriate and unbefitting of someone in his position sure but why’s it misogyny?

Calling someone a woman is similar to calling a male a dick, it’s a standard insult.

If she called someone a dick would she be engaging in misandry?

White male privilege is a myth, it’s just privilege in the United States and UK.

When you use the term you make a sweeping generalisation which hinders straight white males who are absolutely skint and living in relative poverty.

You can argue that through inheritance certain people and families have retained large swathes of wealth and property but the system doesn’t give white men a step up over anyone else.

In fact, due to positive discrimination, straight white working class males are being overlooked, in the UK, we even have a minority status at universities.

There’s some truth in what you say but sadly it really isn’t a myth. It’s obviously way better than it was decades ago, but the white man has had opportunities over the years that black men, white women etc just haven’t had. Banking, politics and many other industries have white men in positions of power and that’s largely due to historical prejudice that has rigged the system. It’s not because they are smarter than other races or genders.

Now many industries are trying to right those wrongs and positive discrimination does exist and of course some white men are going to have less opportunities, sadly it will be predominately the working class too, so that part of your statement is correct. There’s also a prejudice against class which people don’t seem to be talking about or acknowledging and that’s where I feel sorry for the poor non-privileged white men living side by side people of color who might be give breaks they no longer get.

Personally I’m very torn on positive discrimination; there’s pros and cons but change has to happen to try and level the playing field.

They vote against me? I’m not a politician mate and I’m actually a swing voter if you’re assuming I’m labour? So I guess you made the same prejudicial assumption I made against that male politician.

Herein lies the problem. When calling a woman a woman is deemed 'standard' you have to wonder what is going on.

It's not, and shouldn't be standard, it's just plain wrong, and to be in such a position as he is and use it, is a disgrace.

In my opinion, her gender, and, arguably her skin colour has played a big part in his reaction towards her.

If you were typing this in the 90’s you’d be absolutely correct but affirmative action has been in affect in the US since the 90’s, in the UK we’ve not had a serious race issue in the workplace for decades. The wrongs have already been made right.

Sure, the richest 1% are almost all white men but there’s a reason for that. A) men don’t need to take years out to raise families, to get to the top you need to work 60 hours a week minimum for several decades and B) the wealth is inherited.

When we look at the bottom 99%, BAME are doing very well now and the decades of reversal in race relations is seeing them make their way on to company boards.

Your post isn’t totally incorrect, it’s just out of date.

Trump is the embodiment of white male privilege. You think if a black President did half the shit Trump does there wouldn't be endless learned comment about how blacks were unsuited to the demands of high office? Or a woman? You think if a black guy or a woman screwed up as badly they would promptly run another black guy or a woman to oppose them?

Want to know how white male privilege exists? When an old white male dude like Trump fucks up they pick another old white male dude to oppose him. Want to know why they didn't pick another woman to run against Trump? For fear of alienating voters who won't vote for a woman no matter how competent she is.

You refuse to see institutional racism, you refuse to see white male privilege, you seem to think the only victims are white working class males. You are dug so deep into your bunker all you can see is walls.

You’ve just totally twisted what I said.

Calling women a woman shouldn’t be a standard, I said it’s a standard insult, insulting people shouldn’t be the standard though.

Women call other women bitches more than men call it them.

He was out of order but calling someone a woman isn’t misogyny, just as calling a male a dick or a prick isn’t misandry.

What he’s guilty of is treating a colleague with disrespect and not acting as his position warrants.

If a female politician called a young man a fucking dick then yeah it would be. woman has arguably more sexist connotationS than dick does though.

99% of Bame are doing very well? We have zero race issues in the work place? The richest 1% have got there because they don’t give birth... mate there’s so much bullshit here.

I think with such concrete statements like this you need to back it up with evidence!
