Wonder if the "other one" is Aaron Martin? We do have space for another foreign player even if we sign JFE and Sanchez.

A thought Just occurred.....

What if we offered Arsenal £50m for Sanchez & Kieron Gibbs, which would solve our Mendy back up issue and concentrate WBA mind on Evans.

Ideally & realistically we'd want Sanchez, Evans & Aarón Martín, but reports in Spain suggest we've shown interest in him, but haven't submitted a bid.

I reckon the whole thing is being driven by our remaining budget. We probably have a finite amount we can spend in the remaining window, and the amount we'll have to pay for Sanchez is probably dictating what we can spend on our other targets. We have Delph & Denayer who could yet figure prominently as make-weights in potential deals, albeit I think we should keep Delph who is more than capable.
 
Also....this Sterling swap stuff hasn't gone away yet. Surely we can't be stupid enough to offer Sterling for a player with 10 months left of his contract? I'd rather just get Sanchez on a free next summer.

Call Arsenal's bluff and offer cash only.

Isnt Delph on his way to Stoke?
 
We could sign him for free next season and sell Sterling for £75m if we wanted.

We shouldn't do Arsenal any favours.

Fixed again. i.e it was Sterling we signed from Liverpool not Sanchez. Also I'd value Sterling a lot more than 80mill in today's market, however i agree with your general sentiment.

SOTON have bought two centerbacks backs this window and now have 6 in total on their books.

Looks like VVD is definitely leaving. Hopefully we've found some sense and made a move for him.

That would take the Its Quiet thread to 3000 pages easily ;)
 
If Arsenal were gonna offer Sanchez and money for Sterling how can they value at Sanchez at £75M? Would Make the deal for Sterling nearly £100M. Game of cat and mouse this
