Exeter Blue I am here said:
As I said earlier "Never give a sucker an even break." Under no circumstances should we give Arsenal anything. Again like I said earlier, they are the ones wearing the ball gag, we're the ones with the barbed wire strap on. For every snide dig Wenger's had at us since the take over, for that fucking letter, for their dickhead fans sneering about our lack of 'istreeee, we should take this opportunity to grind them out of Champions League contention for the next decade. We take Sanchez from them, and bar the fee we give them fuck all in return, for the simple reason that we don't need to.

75 million quid is probably about right, as after the trio of Messi, Neymar and the shiny faced self indulged preening peacock ex-rag wank bag, I would have to say that Sanchez, like Aguero and Suarez is in that pool of players just below their level. If we bring him in I think after Neymar he is easily the biggest transfer of the summer and had he not been in the last twelve months of his contract would have been 100 million easy. It also looks even better value when you look at the scum paying the same amount for Lumpakaku. Come on city sign the cheque and get it done.

Let me try and spell it out:
Sanchez worth £70mill
+cash £30mill
_________________________
Total £100mill
Minus Sterling £ 50mill and that's if we assume the same price we paid for him. In today's market you want to be doubling that.
__________________________
Profit £ 50mill

Hope this helps

Let me fix this for you.

Sanchez worth £70mill
+cash £30mill
_________________________
Total £100mill
Minus Sterling £ 80mill
__________________________
Profit £ 20mill
___________________________

vs
Sanchez from Liverpool £50m
Today worth £80m
__________________________
Profit £30m

i.e. we're WORSE off financially if we took Sanchez plus £30m in exchange for Sterling.

£75 million is absolutely insane for a player in the last year of his contract, but given that the OX is in a similar situation and is valued at £35 million it seems fairly reasonable. I'd throw the money at them now to get it done but we'd definitely have to win the league this season to justify it. we'd also set a precedent going forward if there wasn't one already with regards to players in the last year of their contracts no longer on the cheap.

I think we're in for a change in this country soon, with the amount of players wanting out this summer and the clubs refusing to sell. I can see us adopting a mandatory minimum release fee with every contract like the Spanish do.
Ox is only 24 though, so all taken into account I reckon the right price is approx £60mil, which is what I reckon it'll get done for, with the odd shitty add on.
