He's staying at Arsenal.

They pulled out all the stops! :-)

Poor Alexis!

Sanchez said 3 weeks ago that he knew where he was going, if it is to us i fully expect things to kick off when he returns to them on Monday. He surely if he wants us has to let it be known to Wenger, and hope his relationship, and the boards discomfort at losing 50 million will soften the blow Having said that this is Wenger and can only see a mammoth battle till the Sky correspondent is getting pissed through outside the Etihad at 5 to11

I wonder what the Arsenal opinion on this is now?

Scenarios: best to worst for Arsenal

1) Extends his Arsenal contract: Likelihood 10%
2) Joins City. They get a replacement. Maybe Mahrez. Likelihood 45%
3) Sees out his contract but announcement mid season, going to a European club. Likelihood 45%

They probably want and expect 3, but in my opinion that's the worst scenario because of the season-long distraction (to the player and fans), and loss of morale.

I am not sure about my likelihoods. Everyone seems to think that we are in for him - but there are no bids. And logically the deal that makes sense is that for Mbappe, not Sanchez (for me anyway).

1 isnt happening so 3 would be the best scenario. I dont think he will sign for a European club in mid season,Im sure he ll wait till the summer where hed have more options both home and abroad, that would be the best for him financially and career wise.

I only dip in to this now and again so it seems like quite a turnaround from a few weeks back to me. As an Arsenal fan you feel the best case scenario is he stays for a year then leaves for nothing? Have you given up any hope of him signing a new contract?

Option 3 is exactly what Milner did and and he didn't drop his performance and there wasn't any issue with morale. Don't see why Sanchez would be any different. Getting him on a free wouldn't be so bad, either.
