Real case of who blinks first now.

Sanchez clearly wants champions league and has said as much now, he wants medals and realistically I think he knows this year Arsenal will struggle. He has one big contract left in him and based on his most recent form, can achieve a big wage for this last contract. City have a real chance to win multiple trophies this year, next year, and the year after, That is recognised.

But clearly he doesn't want to be seen as a trouble causer in public, he's asked to leave and been told no. Sounds like we too don't want to be on the receiving end of the backlash of taking a player who forced a move.

Ultimately I think £50-60m for a player in the last year of his contract should be too good for Arsenal to turn down, they just want to save face. Bit strange however that other than Lemar they're not looking at options elsewhere it seems, and Monaco will be asking £60m + for him too I imagine. Likely Wenger just wants him not playing for us now, as it is less games he can contribute towards for us. Whilst he isn't contributing anything to Arsenal right now, he's also not harming them significantly by being out of action with a sniffy nose or a achy back, and at the same time Wenger can;t get the man in he really wants anyway.

The question for both Sanchez and Arsenal is, if they keep him..then what? In 12 months time we may be looking elsewhere ourselves and Lemar could be an option for us, Pep doesn't come back for players who won't commit first time of asking as we have seen with Aubameyang, Laporte and others. And at 30 and possibly a less successful season this year than last, Sanchez's own bargaining position could be weaker. True, the market may have settled back down next year and Arsenal may be able to get a replacement for under £50m, but we too could be entering the market for a forward at that time, which will not be to their advantage.

My prediction, I didn't think this was happening last week but now I think he'll end up signing some time after the Bournemouth game, just in time for the internationalist and to face Liverpool. Arsenal will panic and offer £50m for Martial and that will be that.

Some people are treating him like he never misses a chance as well, I'm sure he misses as many as anyone else does.

I'm not against signing him, but I don't think we are desperate for someone else, as Sane, Sterling, and Bernardo can all play up top, and will score more than enough goals for me.

He offers something different & definitely increases our chances but it's the idea we 'need' him I can't get my head round.

We could take two players out of our attacking unit & still have more quality players to fill the positions, than pretty much anyone else in the Prem. It's a matter of them performing to the level they are capable of.

If a side came to our place, with Fernandinho, Yaya even Delph in front of a solid back 4 & Sané Jesus & Sterling in attack, playing on the counter, we would find it seriously fucking difficult to stop them & it would be one of the toughest games we faced all season.

We have Aguero, Silva, Silva & KDB who could all play in attacking roles instead plus Gundogan & a.n. other behind & would be a totally different type of problem & again, with Mendy & Walker bombing forward, that unit would have caused Mancini's team, for example, all manner of shit & be better than most who beat us in Europe.

Sanchez is potential icing on a fucking huge cake, not a necessity.
