If the bid goes in, I expect Arsenal to turn it down. That's when Sanchez has to put a request in. My guess is we give him a couple of days to do it, if he doesn't we have a couple of weeks to work on plan b.

Fact is in the current market, Sanchez is arguably a £100 million-plus player but with him having less than a year left on his current deal Arsenal's hand is weakened in terms of what fee they can get for him if they decide to sell him. I'd have no qualms about us paying £60 million though as he's a fantastic player but I'd be surprised if that's our opening offer.

Lets be honest, if we were in his position and didn't support City then we'd sit tight for the next season and then walkaway on a free.....£££££££££

Well that isn't Sanchez, or any other striker.

Sanchez would of course improve the squad considerably but he isn't a magic bullet as some on here seem to think.

I think some people think that because he scored x number of goals for Arsenal last season then it automatically adds that many goals to our team if he signs for us but it doesn't work like that in reality. In all probability he'd score less for us as he wouldn't be the main focal point like he was for Arsenal and may be used differently in our team (although Guardiola is on record as admitting that he perhaps didn't play Sanchez in his best position when he managed him at Barcelona). Either way though, he''s a great player and if we do sign him he'd be a fantastic addition IMO.

Completely agree. He will bring goals but we're likely to face a parked bus for most of the season and he's equally being brought for that.

It's exactly this.

Both Law and Cross have basically attempted to ratchet the price.

Whether that's on behalf of Arsenal or, as I suspect, just wringing the last dregs from a saga that has been played out all summer long, just covering their arses.

They have been insistent Arsenal won't sell. No way. Nada. Not a chance. No Siree.

Simply covering their arses now as they can fall either side of the outcome.

My two penneth still?

It will somehow get done.

Is there any inclination that Sanchez is prepared to push I.e hand Ina transfer request?

yes
Just to counter this because I've read it a few times, IMO it's dangerous to become over reliant on young players. We're currently in a situation where three of our forward line are 22 or under. Two of them have only a season's PL experience. Yes they need to play more and develop more, but one injury to ANY of the attacking line currently means everyone plays every game. The balance is way off.

Sanchez/an attacker is an absolute priority in the next few weeks.
yes it is. well they may be but sane, sterling and jesus are not 20 + goals strikers. Neither are debruyne, silva and bernardo. which leaves us with aguero as the only 20+ goals striker. sanchez is a talisman. he has saved arsenal lots of time in critical situations. scoring goals and assisting. we have solved last year issues of bad goalkeeper, poor and old fullbacks. now we must solve striking issues. which was our third issue.

You forgot, in his position you already have earned everything you need for a happy life of luxury.
Not about money in the first place.

Yeah, all of this.
