We don't have a genuine proven goal scorer on our bench!!!! Fwe need someone full stop.
This +1.
It's astonishing how many people still think 11-14 players is enough. We're aiming to win the champions league and the league. Real/ Bayern and until recently Barca had squads of genuine depth, with game changers on the bench. In trouble away at Monaco our bench options were Kelechi, Navas and Nolito.
We need goals, we need something different and we need a forward. Sanchez ticks this boxes.
But which one of those subs would you have brought on if we needed a goal ?
That's the main point - an injury to either Jesus or Kun and we look short of numbers up top in my opinion
Did you see our bench in the opener? That was not including mendy or gundo. I'm all for Sanchez but our quality in depth has already improved massively this offseason. Squad size is less but quality in depth is greater. Sanchez and a cb would be great. But let's not complain too much
Also Sterling's the only traditional right winger left in the squadThat's the point I think is missed over and over again. If we lose Kun or Jesus for any period of time we either change formation or get Sterling or someone else to play as a forward.
But what clubs in world football have more than two world class forwards? Any club would struggle with injuries to top players. That's the point I think is missed over and over again. Not my money but not a chance I would indulge Wenger.... fuck him I say... move on if the guy refuses to budge on priceArsenal won't sell for 60m. If you are talking 80m then they would be absolutely crazy to not sell.
Couldn't honestly give a shit if we offered 80m with him being in last year of contract, its not my money. He strengthens the squad massively and weakens a rival who will not find a better replacement with the money spent on him.
I say if they reject 60m, tempt them with an offer between 75-80m. If they still reject, walk away from the deal.
Lots of teams have more than 2 forwards, unless if by forwards you mean centre forwards, Sanchez isn't a centre forward, he can play there in an emergency, but usually he'll play as a wide forward alongside Aguero or Jesus or both. But what clubs in world football have more than two world class forwards? If we lose Kun or Jesus then we will play one up front with an extra AM which i'm sure we will do even when they are both fit. I cant see that trio of Sane, Silva and sterling being left on the bench many times this season.
Personally I think Sanchez would be the icing on the cake but there isn't a desperate need for him if there was I think the club would have coughed up the money at the start of the summer.
