Alexis Sanchez

He said they don't usually get involved in January but if certain types of players become available you try at anytime. Then went on to enthuse about what a player Sanchez is. Seems strange things to say if you are in no way interested. Just setting yourself up for a fall surely.

That is not him confirming a bid or deal is it though and it’s the same with we have said we won’t pay more than £20M.

Nothing has been said from City, nothing because we never do and today has been nothing but no marks on twitter and media organisations hunting clicks basically making shit up to suit as it invariably always is in the transfer season.

Now I’ve no issue with that and no issue with posters discussing it but when someone makes a statement of fact like the poster who I pulled up did it’s not on when it’s not based on any fact.

Far too many can’t help themselves on here and it leads to shit we have to deal with.

We have said we won’t buy Sanchez for more than £20mil and the deal is at an impasse.

Rags willing to pay more for him.

Basically the state of play
You can afford to wait. If he really wants City and Pep and nobody else then you can snap him up for nothing in July and give him a bigger signing on fee. Everybody is happy then. You don't actually need him to win the league.

I know Barkley is younger but surely Alexis is worth quite a bit more than he went for. 20 mill sounds a bit of a piss take.

You mean in the Summer, or whenever Aguero tells us he is going, we will be able to replace the best with the best.

All this Sanchez to City, really underplays our standing in the game. We can do far better than a great player, who has seen better days,
You're pushing at an open door with me on this point. I think the methodical and strategic rather than the opportunistic approach to transfers is the best in the long run. The only upside to signing Sanchez now comes from the position we have worked ourselves into as regards competing for multiple trophies, especially the CL. If he comes now, he could help us become stronger in the run up to the end of the season, but it is a bit of a gamble as to how effectual he would be. If he comes now and helps us win some cups then it would have been money well spent, however, and this is what I assume your thinking is, if he came and failed to make an impact, it would have been a regressive transfer and could hamper our level of progress in the long run.

No he fucking didn’t and if you or any other poster keeps basically wumming this thread you will get binned off.
Is that MOD speak for 'I feel you are mistaken in that assumption, and Mr Mourinho done no such thing'....?

You must have realised by now that if you don't tow the party line on here you are somewhere between a rag and ****.

I don't agree with your opinions on Sanchez but I believe you are entitled to them.

Agree with you to a point, however starving 100% gets his shits and giggles from those who respond... he's the quintessential Gollum... very insecure and seeks the attention!

Mate I totally agree. however if he goes there I wont be stressing as I am sure we will strengthen again in the summer. I feel the signing of a DM is just as pressing as this one, because if we lose Dinho for any length of time we will struggle.
Tougher position to get right DM. Only one position available as oppossed to attacking mids/fwds and what quality player would be satified bench warming? One for the summer I think. I actually see the DM role as an opportunity for Ilkay if he adapted.

Mate I get how good we are and I’m not jealous or envious of United at all I despise the club, fans and everything they stand for. I’d just be gutted if we ended up losing Sanchez to them. I think he’d be unreal here.
TRUE. Big big chance to try for at least 3 cups, he would have given us that bit extra , looks like another " Done deal " up the dip.

Txiki should have offered 30M starting January 1st, and lowered the price by 1M each day. Pressure to get him moved over quickly and savings if the move happens late in the month.

Fixed it for you.....you really are a one trick pony.

Says the gloryhunter who joined just last month to somebody who is in this forum since 2006. Nice.

Its hilarious how people talk about AS like he is the 17y old Messi. This guy massively declined from last year. And it will not get better. He is probably even trying to make his best impression because of contracts talks. A 100m pound player? LOL. In 3-4y his resale value is ZERO.

With the way the wind is blowing looks like he is off to United which is a shame as its never nice to see them bastards sign a world class player, even more so when its a player we wanted. I do however feel maybe Pep is not as desperate to sign him as been made out in the media as I feel if it was the case we would be throwing everything at him to get him like United are. I just hope Jesus comes back into his early season form when he returns from his injury as I thought he was struggling for a couple of months before hand. Either way there has never been a better time to be a city fan in my lifetime. oh and at least it has gone quiet on the Jonny Evans front.
Help me out here please as I am obviously missing something. What are you basing your "the way the wind is blowing - he's off to the swamp" as I have not seen anything along those lines

To be honest I'd like Sanchez at our club, now or in July. He would be a great addition and cover for several positions for us.
From supposed ITK's he want's to join us, and choose not to join PSG in the summer when a lot of money was on offer. Just because Utd have offered more cash to Arsenal doesn't mean he'll choose to go to them. While he's under contract Arsenal can set a price, if we are not prepared to meet that price then so be it, if Sanchez decides to take the extra cash and choose Utd, so be it.
I trust Pep and the senior management to do the best for us and make the right decision, and until that's
decided we support the team to win with or without Sanchez.

Pefect situation would be doing a Bernardo Silva hijacking but with Malcom, and leave Man Utd, Arsenal and Alexis to do what they want to do.

Looks like United are now favourites, but don’t think anything is decided yet. I’m sure there will be more twists and turns along the way. Either way, I won’t be “embarrassed” if we don’t get him. A bit disappointed maybe, but we’re in pretty good shape as it is!

Why the fuck would we be embarassed Ric, it says more about Sanchez than us if he did sign for the lemmings.

We only went for him when Jesus got injured.

Well not really we went for him in summer and agreed it all so Pep clearly wanted him then. Arsenal messed up and that was that so I think he may be a tad disappointed if he does want him and doesn't get him! He may do so yet. Despite the bluster the odds are not conclusive at all so there is still some doubt

That maybe true, I don't know him. This forum is full of people that feed it though, because they can't help but respond in an aggressive manner if they don't agree with someone. We are all blues, it doesn't mean we all have to think the same thing.
