Arsenal have told Alexis Sanchez they will not cave into his attempts to engineer a move to a Premier League rival this summer. [Daily Mail]

These things are so stupid. City will have known for a long time if Arsenal, and Sanchez for that matter, were willing to do a deal. They might not have agreed the finances of it yet but it's daft to think we're sat there asking the same question and getting no each time. If it wasn't doable, we'd have briefed a lack of interest by now.

Until I see the likes of Mullock reporting we have backed down I firmly believe we are going all out for him.

I think that probably is the state of play at the moment.

It will be about nerve at this point and who holds there's.

In a lot of ways Arsenal should do it now and have the money ready to buy a new player and have him out of the club. But they will not.

It will go on and on until eventually they let him go. As 9 times out of 10 the player wins.

lol John Cross-eyed more like.

In the last few months he's run the gamut of Sanchez stories and has officially covered every base possible;
- Sanchez staying but eyeing a Bosman transfer to Chelsea (April)
- Sanchez off to PSG after Wenger says his goodbyes to the squad (April)
- Sanchez extending contract at Arsenal and set to be paid bumper £350,000 per week package (April)
- Sanchez going to Bayern Munich after Chilean teammate Arturo Vidal convinced him (May)
- Sanchez set to break Gunner hearts in shock Man City swap (May)
- Sanchez to accept massive £350,000 per week deal to join Bayern Munich (May)
- Sanchez could move to China (May)
- Sanchez wants to go to Bayern Munich, who will offer him wages of £400,000 per week (June)
- Sanchez wants to go to City, but will end up going to Bayern instead (June)

I can safely say that one of those reports is correct and you can expect a tweet from John of "I told you so" when it happens too.

Exactly this, and no matter what Arsenal do, they can't force Sanchez to go somewhere he doesn't want to go. If the player wants City, he'll get City.

I'd call Arsenal's bluff.

City or I see my contract out and leave on a free (to City) in 12 months.

If he wants us then he proves it and sits pretty waiting for the move

Arse won't take the chance keeping him only to lose him for sweet fa

May go to the wire but we end up signing him if he really wants it

Easy solution. We bid for every player Arses are in for and push the price up sky high for every player they try to buy. Think this deal would be done rather quickly then.

I am not sure if Arsenal are bluffing about blocking the move , or wenga actually has some power this time.

but alexis had a problem with wenger as well mate? arsenal yet again get themselves in this position where a top player enters the last year of their contract? sanchez can refuse every other move if he wants city so arsenal will be forced to sell to us. no sensible business turns down £40-50m to keep an unhappy player and then lose them for nothing to the team that the player always wanted to go to.

yes but it only works if Alexis wants us badly.
