I totally agree, I had come round to the idea of Evans being an option but it would be clever of them to fabricate interest in order to aid our negotiations for Sanchez. I'd rather we pay whatever is required to get exactly who Pep wants, we shall we what happens...

I too have come to see the light that it might be a decent piece of business for us, but the Aaron Martin links make that seem like a better move. For as bad as many think he is, Mangala can at least fill holes at CB in a somewhat competent capacity if any of the other 4 CBs get injured. However, if anything happens to any 1 or 2 of Mendy, Walker or Danilo for at least a month, we're stuck with the possibility of playing Fernandinho at fullback. If he has to fill in at fullback, we have to rely on Yaya staying sharp and Gundogan staying healthy during that period. We need to add one more LB so no one is played in their non-preferred positions to just fill the gaps left by injuries, which we never seem to avoid.

Raheem Sterling is a great player. Anyone who knows football can see this. OK he's young but that means he'll get better. No way should we even consider him in a deal for anyone. It's not only looking more and more likely that Sanchez signs for City but that Arsenal have no intention of spending the money they do make from it on a decent replacement. I imagine Arsenal fans will be fuming they've left it this late if they are selling him afterall, would Leicester sell Mahrez this late in the window? Looks like Chelsea are in for him too.
