Mate we can't give them away half the time because of the salaries. We end up loaning them and paying a chunk of their wages. I don't doubt we have performance related pay. Most clubs will. I don't doubt that ours may be structured so basic wages are a bit lower than you may expect but there is no way Aguero or Silva is taking home £100k basic a week. Players would prefer a guaranteed salary over a performance one.

No way am I saying the top players are on £100k a week! Just that the gap between them and our "lesser" players would be, as you say, lower than expected.
