That's saying (before we've even released our accounts), that we had increased our wage bill by £50m (25%) between May 16 and May 17

So it's pure guesswork from them. They won't know our wage spend until we release them.

Fair enough. But wouldn't the average wage per player be more relevant than total wageroll.

Anyway suppose the point is it's mostly guesswork.

Will be interesting to see where he starts off for us if he signs. I really do think Pep needs to settle on a formation, as the players have looked confused and uncoordinated in the games so far. 352 will only stagnate players like Sane so I'm hoping we return to a 442. Although 352 may help us to become more stable at the back. The managers has lots of big decisions on the horizon.

I think 4-5-1 suits us best.

Sanchez will be able to play any of 5 positions in that line-up. LW/RW, CF and AMx2.

Well yeah the average wage is also bullshit from a reporter.

The only 'truths' are what clubs actually put down as 'wage bill' in their accounts and we were below Pool, Chelsea and United and only a couple of million more than Arsenal in the last published figures for all clubs.

I mean we've almost never played 442 under Pep except at the back end of last season. If Sanchez were to sign, he'd probably slot into the same lineup we had at Bournemouth and he'd play where Sterling did.

Return to a 442?

Are you expecting us to return to 1996?
