Alexis Sanchez

Last season, Sanchez had his best season by far, scoring 24 in the league, 8 more than previously. Sergio has a poor season, missing 7 (I think) games through suspension and not being picked by Pep for others. And he still managed 20.

I think you're getting a bit carried away with how good Sanchez is. Sergio was until a poor season last year, regarded arguably the best out-and-out striker in the world. A toss up between him and Jaws.

Aguero is an out and out striker though, while Sanchez is more of a wide player. I would expect Aguero to score more but Sanchez to contribute more overall. Both excellent players and it needn't be an either or. We can have both.

What are you, his Mum?

Sanchez had a great season last season and he's a good player. That's it. He is not Messi FFS.

He's an inferior striker to Sergio and an inferior playmaker to Silva or KDB. He is very good, but that is all. Another very good player to add to our squad of already very good players.

Your defence of Kun although admirable is completely out of touch with reality.

We do.

The Sky **** is claiming a 'senior source' has told him.

At City, the equivalent of that could be Mike Summerbee.

There is no official comment from Arsenal, or City.

Yes but clubs not only put out info through various sources but also agents and clubs will be in communication. The truth is none of us have a clue what's really going on. Logic tells me it would be stupid for Arsenal to not sell him and I'm not as desperate as others so it's not wishful thinking. If Arsenal do nothing they will not make top 4 with Sanchez anyhow. The fee and saved wages can either get someone in now or later to help them back into the top 4 next season.

We can't rule out them being stubborn and if city believe they can't be this daft and that's how they are playing it then it's a gamble.

he could look better by receiving the ball in better positions, not being under so much pressure because of this, ........have you ever players with players that are significantly better than you in a game....i have and my ability was hugely increased (not hard admittedly!)
I don't doubt he'll be a great player for us and one that would improve us but I can see some of the shiny toy brigade after a couple of months thinking, what was all the fuss about, we can do better. Just saying, he won't be the biggest fish in the pond here. I'm not suggesting he thrives on that but Silva, Aguero, De Bruyne are comparable players, whereas at Arsenal...

Or not. I am not bothered.

What would bother me is if we do something really STUPID and cave in and do a swap.

Yeah I get it, you dont rate him highly. I'm just saying not one of our players can produce goals and assists combined like Sanchez does. He's not messi, but he is a world class player. He's the best player in our squad if he signs and instantly improves our chances of winning trophies. If he doesn't sign, then okay, we've probably just got enough to challenge on all fronts.

Does that look like a the face of a man who isn't going to get what he wants?
He did the same thing to Rughead though!! God forbid

Sergio hasn't been the best striker in the world for a few years, you're over rating our players. Sanchez becomes our best player if he signs. There's nobody in our squad that can score the goals and produce a good amount of assists like he does.

He becomes the best player, if he finishes the season as our poty. Only then.

In most previous seasons, he wouldn't be.

Correct.

People making no allowances whatsoever for how much space he's allowed to operate in at Arsenal, vs at City where every team sits deep and defends for their lives.
