It depends on his attitude.

We know he'll leave next season, probably...but if he gives his all, we will support him. If he sulks, then he will have a very unhappy season and he'd better not go out in London.

An English club cannot approach another English clubs player 6 months from the end of his contract, a foreign club can...

They'd need consent from that club, a foreign club don't need that consent.

We could get him in January, but would have to pay, and do a deal with said club.

Unfortunately there is a slight difference between retaining the services of a 60M pound player and being proud of his previous achievements and expecting him to give the same performance when he realises you ie Arsenal have blocked his financial as well as CL experiences.

Unfortunately you sound as though his 60M pricetag is still an Arsenal asset within a dedicated player. That opportunity for Arsenal directors as well as its loyal fans has just disappeared.

You didn't bid more than 60m though you bid 55m plus add ons, I always said 50m was a pisstake in this market place. I don't see why we'd let him go for 20m in Jan either. That's back up player money.

Someone will get him for free (ie 120m over 4 years) at the end of the season though you're right.....if you actually consider that FREE

The whole point is that bidding any higher than we did was not worth it as he will cost considerably less in Jan or at season's end.
You on the other hand have just missed out on 60 mill and now have a very unhappy chappy on your hands.
