If we get him in January, it needs to be in the first week otherwise what is the point.

Useless to get him on the last day of the window.

Bid £25m on Jan. 1st, make it public. Half way through the season and less than half of what we offered in the summer. The price is more than fair for both sides. After a few days, up to a week, lower it to £20m and tell Arsenal you accept it and get it done or we’ll take him for free in the summer.

End of story. No pissing about.

Think Wenger will just keep him for spite or say we want sterling or he stays to end of season.

Arsenal owe him £3.6m in wages between January and his contract ending.

Anything more than £10m would be stupid.

They need him more than we do, but we would have a highly-motivated player in a rush to play catch-up, especially so, with no World Cup to look forward to next summer.

Feck it, give 'em £15m and be done with you.

No one seems to be addressing Sanchez's current form.
Because no one else is idiotic enough to not realise why he’s not exactly putting his body on the line for a club he’s fucking angry at for ruining his dream move.

It's two-fold.

He's not going to put it on the line for Arsenal between January or the end of May, either.

Another consideration for Arsenal.

Apparently, he got a round of applause from his Chile team-mates when he told them on deadline day he was on his way to City.

Imagine how humiliated he feels.

I'm completely torn about this one, get the arguments about him coming in to rejuvenate a tiring team plus demoralising opponents, but there's something about that just doesn't feel right.

I know his attitude for Arsenal is predicated on the shambles around the summer window, but he looks unfit as well as uninterested to me. I'd seriously worry about him knocking the balance and squad harmony out of kilter. I'm also a romantic and like the idea of Foden becoming the 6th choice & building for the future

Does Pep sound like the kind of coach who'd stand for any kind of player nonsense (Ronaldinho, Deco, Ibrahimovic, Toure)?

Pep knows Sanchez and Sanchez knows Pep, so they BOTH know what they're getting, and getting themselves into. Sanchez has been a model professional throughout his career, albeit now he's at his peak, he's found himself playing at a giant of a club who are on the slide. He's adhered to his Arsenal contract so far and told them he'll not be renewing. Arsenal accept the inevitable, but renege on selling him to City when their replacement stalls on joining the fading force that is Arsenal.

Of course Sanchez is pissed off and feels shit upon and unmotivated and it's easy to understand why. I really fail to understand why our fans are looking at the frustrated top scoring Arsenal player who wants to leave at the peak of his career to a team he thinks better reflects his ambitions and skill set & not seeing there is a clear link between how he's been treated recently and his demeanour.

I remember Silva & Aguero arguing on the pitch & Silva storming off after being substituted in Pellegrini's final season. If Manuel had remained in charge and our regression had continued, do you think either of them would be eager to renew their contracts, or do you think they'd be looking to move on to a new club who better reflected their ambitions and skill sets? Luckily Pep came and we never had to find out.

Don't worry about our pursuit of Sanchez mate, Pep, Txiki, Soriano & Khaldoon know exactly what they're doing.

Ah the bitter old man. He might, it’s a lose lose for them either way. At least this way Arsenal make some £.

Otherwise they keep a player and are forced to play someone who is obviously not going to give anything close to 100%.

If they want to hold on to him to “prove a point” they really aren’t achieving anything and will only hurt themselves in the end.

The rational side of me knows you're right and we will need that pick-me-up come January, and it needs to be January or never for me, but I probably worry too much about City-itis kicking in!

As you've said though, there's really no need to worry at all if the manager has faith in him. Also what do we really lose? Pretty sure we'd have takers of he doesn't get into the side after all.
